This wont work out of the box for BSNL , Hes correct
In basic terms you require Ont which has blue optical port instead of green . For this to work you need to spend another 500/ to get connectors and cables

You can go through my tryst with this Blue green port ... - https://broadband.forum/threads/tenda-hg9-or-tp-link-xc220-g3v-for-bsnl-fiber.219757/post-1604947
My seller already tested it with bsnl broadband in his area and said it works fine and dont change the default settings he provided!! And if it connects well will there be speed loss or something like that?

No comments then , if its working fine , enjoy

also will there be any speed loss if i use the adaptor u mentioned? and in ur case did the connection itself not worked or u experienced speed loss? without adaptor
It is always recommended to use a good after market wifi router instead of relying on generic GPON/ONT router given by ISPs. Get a good wifi router like 2.4k cost tplink archer C6 & connect it via ethernet to ISP ONT/GPON router & put it in DMZ zone from ISP router settings. Then connect all your devices to tplink router wifi & disable wifi of ISP GPON/ONT router.
