Is it worth buying a second hand xbox used for 2500 hours?

Some guy is selling an xbox series X for 28k which seems like a great price. The only issue is that he has used it for 2500-3000 hours in a span of 16 months which is a lot. I feel like the xbox could suffer internal component failure after I buy it. He claims the xbox works perfectly with no issues which I don't doubt as well. What do you guys think? I can shell a few Ks more for a less used xbox from another source.

First question you need to ask is, does the series X have a reputation for hw failures after a certain number of hours? Not a console guy but I remember the early 360s did do that, with the whole red ring of death issue. If they're using a bargain bin mosfet or cap somewhere, that should be causing problems for many people. Seems unlikely, but it happens.

If not, then 3000 hrs / 480 days is only about ~ 6.25 hours of usage per day for less than 2 years. Most consumer electronics has components that are rated for far longer lifespans than that, assuming that the temps are kept reasonably under control. Odds are they'll outlast the mechanical components like the fans.

So if the console is in great condition otherwise, I would go for it. Maybe repaste and clean it once you get it.

That is a bit of risky purchase.
Now if it has been used and kept nicely. It might still have quite some life left.
However, It is something you will be taking a chance in my opinion.

I am unsure if you should go for it or not. Maybe if he allows you atleast 3-4 days of usage to you to test out to your satisfaction and if you find no issue go for it. If not , I will advice avoid.
rest Your call ofcourse.

2500 hours may sound like a lot, but it's just 6 hours a day over its present lifespan. No different from a PC. The Series X has no history of HW failures, IIRC. If it's maintained properly, it's a great deal.
