Anyone buying from md, do make sure that you make an unboxing video. Got scammed 53k by md. They sent me a broken monitor. The box was already damaged before they shipped it to me cuz the outer packaging when I got it was intact but the box had a couple heavy indents. They claimed I broke it, unfortunately I didn't make an unboxing video so RIP. Similar thing happened to another guy a couple weeks ago. He posted it on reddit.
There are similar reports of the odyssey g7 neo on r/monitors, something to do with the packaging but md didnt help me and assumed I'd broken it.
Should have filed a complaint,Don't let it slide off so easily
Can I suggest one of these builds to my cousin who will use it for following stuff -
  • Coding.
  • Presentations/Docs etc.
  • Games like factorio, civ 6 etc
I was going to suggest him a laptop, but he already has ups, monitor, and peripherals.
Get him a laptop ,he will need to take his laptop to college for presentation and demonstrations

Where? Not much chances in consumer court because of no unboxing video & bank won't help in such cases.
Don't think a video is a must by consumer court ,damages to outerbox are enough proof .The amount is big enough to consult a small lawyer and send in a legal notice,

Tried consumer court but got no resolution, probably due to no video. Didn't go for legal action. Might try to get it repaired and sell it.

?? Not related to @Abhijat case in anyway but what if someone intentionally/unintentionally damage the product & put it back inside. That is why "credible video of unboxing" is required in any court of law in such cases because without that it is just buyer's words against seller's.

Video will be required at evidence stage. For filling a case it is not required afaik. You should consult a lawyer. 53k might be small amount to you, but to put in general perspective it's a HUGE amount and you should not let MD escape with a crime like this.

I believe you mean consumer forum which is mostly useless, the video evidence is a two edge sword mdcomputers will also have to prove that they shipped you an undamaged piece .

That is the only realistic option unless you are suggesting to file a civil case of cheating against MD computers in a regular court which will take at least 4-5 years & much more than 53k in lawyer fees.

Hmm but I live in a really small town, good lawyers here are hard impossible to find, and even then the headache would not be worth it. This happened in November 2022. So I've kind of dropped it

That's a shame. There's no such thing as a good lawyer in this day and age, I mean may be a fraction of a fraction, and they are really expensive. You just need one with the degree who will represent you, that's all, the representation part. Nov 2022 is still not 2 years yet, you can still take the consumer court route. Anyway, up to you.

Seems like they are a habitual offenders, glad I never opted for them again. In 2019, I bought Ryzen 3 3200G and B450M mobo from them and both had issue from the get go. The only solution was to do RMA.

Blacklisting them forum wide is the best way to go. As far as your case is concerned, its disconcerting to lose half a lakh worth due to sham sellers. I hope you can get some support, legal cases are nothing but hassle but seems to be the only way forward.
