Android Samsung S23 ultra vs Google Pixel 8 Pro

From the two devices mentioned in the title, which is better and why?
I have heard that there are heating, network issues on Pixel 8 Pro. If someone currently using the phone can provide feedback that will be great.

I am thinking of getting one of these from US and finding it hard to decide, want to keep it under 1k USD

S23 Ultra hands down, the only good thing about Pixel 8 Pro is the cameras, 8 pro uses Tensor G3 based on Exynos, so you'll have all the bullshit that comes with an Exynos processor, heating, battery drain and what not, Pixels in general also do not have stellar network quality (many users have complained about it) and the rest you can find for yourself.

If camera is the main priority then Pixel otherwise Samsung for sure, S23U is one of the best phones released last year.

I second the S23 ultra. Excellent battery life is an added bonus. Used to switch of wifi and Bluetooth earlier in other models to preserve battery but need not do in ultra

Tensor is the biggest thing holding back Pixels, if they had used 8 Gen 2 would have been a great device. Also there's Pixel's QC with some hardware & software stuff. So Samsung is the top android flagship choice for a reason. Chinese lack in OS polish IMO, Oneplus' old Oxygen OS was good, but they killed it & now have Color OS of oppo skinned as Oxygen OS on OP phones (it is good but not good enough for flagship money IMO).

Which one do you have and also the cover/case for the phone
I don't have any screen guard atm. I'm fine with it. I purchased a non-brand one for 1k and ripped it off in a day.
I initially purchased the Spigen case, but it tore off in 6m. From reddit I came to know that it's a design flaw, sent an email and got the full amount refunded as warranty was 1 year. Now using Onyx from Ringke, and I'm happy with it.
You'll have to get a screen guard with that glue and UV thingy. That will work fine.

does this work with back covers? assuming s23u has a curved display

P.S. I would avoid UV tempered glass, there are way too many cases of it ****ing up the phone's display

That's what I read, I didn't want to take any risks, hence no screen guard in mine, just case.

Not all screen guards are compatible with all cases. One has to check. Else the guard will peel off at the corners once case is installed.

S23u for last 2 years now... Wow Samsung has become a completely different company over past few years.... I remember I used to hate TouchWiz with a passion... But now samsung is the best android... And device is just stellar... Bst phone right now across platforms.... Apart from s24u
