Good gpu for i5 6500

In my previous post I had asked for suggestions regarding gpu servicing, but it seems it is just spending money on an old and now obsolete product. Hence, if the gods make it so, I hope I will be able to get a good deal on gpu in amazon prime sale. It is by no means confirmed, but if it is a good deal I might get a new, long overdue gpu at last. I am not up to date with the latest information and seeing I have a 6th gen cpu, which I hope to replace with ryzen 3600 in the near future, I don't know what is the right gpu pick for my i5 6500. So give me your suggestions.

I am cautious about buying used graphic cards as they could have been used in a mining rig and thus have high chances of failure in future, so I'd only buy new, except of course if I could get a invaluable deal such as a gtx 1080 for 5k rupees
What about the 6600? It looks like a worthy replacement for my 1060 and I don't have to break the bank much.
