Monitors Looking to buy a monitor 27inch 2K

Is paying a premium for ips panel really worth it when viewing angles dont matter much if you're just sitting on chair infront + va panels have brighter colors right?

I did not know that. imo 250 nits is enough if you aren't using it in complete daylight (like directly next to a window with sunlight coming inside). Also the HDR M3 has isn't good at all.

For work yes.
For games, higher brightness is nicer. Acer KV v2 has 400 nits max and it looked better to me at 100% brightness vs say 40-50%. So i had different profile for games with full brightness, we can easily toggle profile through acer software.

Hdr in both the monitor is just for marketing only.
I have an lg monitor with 250nits and i have never used it above 50 brightness.

You can also use something like TwinkleTray or Monitorian which is probably better than acer software (I dont even know what software you are talking about here).

Yeah I guess so because I have tried enabling HDR and it doesn't work correctly, At least not with the intended settings I want to run with HDR. I also don't like too high brightness (I use 50-65% brightness) so I don't care much about 250nits max brightness being an issue.

I don't use this monitor anymore, but this is probably better as i can create profiles with differences in multiple settings. So a profile for games and another for work.

yeah, i was like this with my old monitor and throughout its ~10 year life i used 50% or so brightness as its uncomfortable for desktop usage.
When i bought new monitor, it had 400nits max. I experimented, and then found that reducing brightness was a mistake and games look quite a bit better with higher brightness.
Games don't usually have a white background, so it doesn't get uncomfortable.

Currently i have an oled screen. I use 3% brightness with white colour basically removed everywhere. Else it can glare a bit + better for panel.
And i use default recommended max brightness (75%) for games. HDR has no brightness setting, it seems to use max brightness. Works well for me. Doom eternal looks surprisingly very good.
