The biggest help Wi-Fi offers is the ability to update the Emulators regularly. And there are several updates which include tweaks, patches, and other performance improvements.
Without networking, it becomes very difficult to update anything.
As you must be aware, Retro Games need Emulation, which needs Emulators. These handheld games have multiple Emulators and other software, including ROMs.

not op, and although fair point but i don't think you need to update emulators "regularly" on such devices. It has games and roms loaded by default which are supposed to work out of box. hence someone can play almost all games without ever updating them.
not inclined towards op or anything, just wanted to add my two cents.

Thanks for your two cents. If you have installed Emulators and played them, you will certainly know there are MANY updates, patches, fixes, and mods that improve the Emulators and gameplay, just like any Windows, Linux, or MacOS apps. Due to lacking Wi-Fi connectivity, this miniature console will not be able to get ANY updates.
