Need to buy ac for 255 sqft room which is covered from every side by other rooms. Need to get cooling of 29-30 in high heat summer and 27-28 in rain humidity season. Should I have to go with 2ton which are around 50000 for 5 star with cooling capacity of 6000watts or 1.5 5 star around 37000 with 5000watt cooling capacity. Both prices are online. I have no idea about offline market prices. If someone has bought from offline market can give an idea about prices. Brand doesn’t matter if it is reliable enough and has good service.

Mitsubishi heavy AC 2 ton is your best bet rest all will struggle to keep the room cool especially a 1.5 ton AC .

You should go with a 2 ton option if we are going by just the room size numbers but other factors such as whether the room is covered from all sides which in your case it is and whether there is roof directly above the room or not plays an important role. You can go with 1.5 ton AC if its covered in every direction and doesn't get as much hot as a room that's lets say is open/directly facing sunlight but one more thing to remember your 1.5 ton AC might be running at full/near full power to keep up with cooling such a large room whereas a 2 ton one might be at the optimal load of 60-70%.

At the end of the day if you are able to afford then get the bigger one.

LG TW-Q24WWYA 2 Ton Ac
I have it as well, it's really good.

Available on Vijay Sales for 39775/- with CC Discount.

Interesting insights: Go for the larger model for better efficiency.
What is the average number of units that a 2 Ton AC consumes? If you could, break it up in hours per Day. i.e.: KW/Hour
The price of a 5 Star 2 Ton AC starts at around INR 65K. Does this price justify in the long-run, and are there any savings?

Not true, there are many models under 60k.

Most are priced around 55-58k INR and to answer your main question, Yes the energy savings you get from using a 5 star AC vs a 3 star one becomes a lot when you consider how long they can run. You will probably recover the extra 10-12k that you are paying for 5 star AC in a year or two and afterwards its all benefits.

Thanks for the response.
I wasn't referring to the STAR rating. I was referring to Ton. Is there a significant saving between using 1.5T AC and 2T AC for the same room size, while BOTH being 5 STAR rated?
