Dell Tiny & SFF PCs

@rsaeon which OS would you recommend to use on this machine to run plex server? I'm looking for stability and would prefer gui based OS.
I personally use Proxmox to host my media server as LXCs. The web GUI and ability to back up the containers is great. Another option you can try is Debian with Docker.

Isn't proxmox an overkill for typical home user only interested in running plex? It is a full fledged server aimed solution after all.

Might also need services like vpn, deluge, radarr, sonarr, etc. I like the ability to backup vms and containers if anything goes wrong. Otherwise docket should also be fine for running the services.

Dockers are much more popular so have much more online guides/tutorials/forums available for help.

I found Ubuntu/Mint to be more stable than any other docker/virtualization based OS's. It takes a little more time to setup but there are no limitations to what you can do. Most other specialized OS's have one or the other limitations. If you only want to run a plex server, there is only a single sudo dpkg -i command required for all practical purposes on Ubuntu/Mint.

I will share the AWB number separately.

Note: The adapters are original but not in great condition. So I will offer you one free replacement for the next 1 year.

Example, some have wire coming out from the plug end while others may have wire coming out from the connector end. But i have tested all of them and they work

But it is lightweight — I've run it on 4GB systems with soldered-on processors like the Celeron J1800.

I have plex serving from an old Macbook, I haven't set up a dedicated machine for it yet, I've been meaning to replace the Macbook.

That is how I do it, Dockers on Debian 11 VM on Proxmox. Services/apps are easily configured with Docker and the Debian VM is easily backed up or migrated to another host when necessary.

I don't use Proxmox containers, I like Docker way better. Also, I've been able to migrate my old Virtualbox VMs to Proxmox so in theory I should able to migrate to another hypervisor if I ever wanted to. I've even converted some VMs to bare metal installs though that's not something I'd regularly want to do.

Received it. The item was neatly packaged.

Got the exact adapter in the pic, got lucky I guess . Would have been nice to know it beforehand though it wouldn't have affected the purchase decision. The assurance to replace is good enough for any future issues. Other than that, the pc is in excellent condition.

@aasimenator was patient enough to answer any queries and a pleasure to deal with. Thanks and would definitely recommend.

Received the Wyse 5070. Packing and fast shipping is great as usual. Ran some quick testing and so far so good.

The adapter has got the wires visible but it's otherwise fine and doesn't impact anything safety/functionality wise. The replacement assurance over the year, just in case, is appreciated though. If required electrical tape/heat shrink should take care of the visual appearance for now.

Thanks @aasimenator You have taken the hassle out of buying refurbs.
