Non-fancy wrist heart rate monitor

Mostly harmless.

Hi folks, I'm looking for something that has a bpm reading, and maybe a plain time display. I don't need any other sensors, don't need any of the fancy smartwatch stuff, but I do want accurate heart rate readings, preferably for about 1k, not much more than that.

Are there any products out there at the moment that fit this criteria? I've seen some smart watches/bands from Noise/Boult etc. in the 1k range, and some generic chinese stuff in the 400-500 range, but I have no clue how accurate their readings are.

+1 I need that specific feature and nothing else. I wonder if those low cost smartwatches are good for anything at all.

Heart rate monitoring at the wrist is probably the least accurate. Even an arm band will be more accurate. At your budget, most will end up using the same sensors. So I would suppose you can go with any wrist band from the "more well known and established" brands like Mi or Amazefit.

Is Amazefit well-known? I just checked the website and their cheapest is still 3800 so I think maybe not that for the moment.

The only brand I recognize in this category is boat tbh. I was considering these:
boAt Wave Style Smart Watch w/ 1.69" (4.2 cm) Square HD Display
boAt Lunar Vista w/ 1.52" (3.8 cm) HD Display
boAt Lunar Connect Plus
boAt Lunar Link
depending on which shape/size/strap I like (as far as I know they all have customizable faces?)

Redmi Watch 2 Lite - 3.94 cm This is also looking pretty decent I guess.
Any comments on the accuracy for this one? I don't like this one's looks but I'll check the rest of their range.

No chinese crap "smart"watches at all work for measuring bodymetrics. They are all a sham. I wonder why these devices are not yet banned in india. All these 3k price smart watches are just for showing off that you own a smartwatch. Do not rely on them for bodymetrics. One thousand is too low a budget for a heart monitor.

You can check the refurbished or used market but chances are nill for this price.

If you are ready to invest more bucks go for Polar Heart Rate Monitors. This is a wearable medical device and is looked as Gold standard for such devices.

No idea on those, sorry. I would think that at this budget you will need to compromise on accuracy. Here is a dated review to give you some of idea of how wrist smartwatches fare in HRT in general -
For accuracy, follow what @bigb123 said above.

Good luck getting an accurate heart rate tracker at that price. Honestly don't even consider anything under 6k. Huawei band 8 is only good heart rate tracker under 6k. After that u need to jump to Fitbit charge, apple watch, pixel watch 2 or a chest strap.
