Android Type - C to 3.5mm Connector Query

I've used both the lighting and usb-c apple DAC with both android and iphones.

I've noticed the volume for my IEM's was very low using the apple usb c DAC with my Zfold6.

The same IEM with the lightning apple DAC with an iphone sounded twice as better and loud.

I would not recommend getting the apple usb C DAC with an android phone.. I've not tested it with a iPhone so idk whether its just not working proerply with android or something. But the Lightning one with Iphone was 10/10.

That's a great price. Was this during a sale or they just randomly give discounts?
Randomly, I think? It seems like I ordered on 28 December, 2023. And received it on Jan 1 next year. Took 1 year to ship, damn.

The low volume on android is due to Android's limitations. Try using HiByMusic (free), or PowerAmp (paid) and you can get really good sound. There's also UAPP (paid).
The downside is most of these support only local playback, or DLNA/FTP. I think only Symfonium has more options for streaming playback, though not supporting Spotify iirc. Not sure whether it has support for bypassing the Android DSP thing either.
There are many articles on this too, for eg:

Looks like VE have discontinued these, and are generally out of stock everywhere. A good replacement is https://www.theaudiostore.in/produc...-portable-dac-amp?_pos=3&_sid=759db802b&_ss=r , has the same DAC chip but also an integrated amp (Analog devices name brand MAX97220, same config as the headphone zone branded ddhifi dongle, at half the price). This has 2x the theoretical power output of the abigail dongle, and the reviews are generally positive. Ordering one myself :p

Mate, did you receive this? How is it?

thats too bad.. i think i only ever use spotify to listen to music :(

Yep, sound quality is similar to the abigail, but has tons of extra power, enough to drive my planars to deafening levels. I did not notice any extra noise/hiss, and build quality is great.
Which planars are you using? Im planning to get the HE00se and if this drives it to sufficient volume levels, I csn skip buying an amp.

Thanks so much for the input, appreciate it mate. The Abigail Pro is in stock now on HPZ but I'll get the Audiocular D07 (CX31993) instead since you have clearly mentioned that this has more driving force. They will easily handle my HD599 SE. I will in any case use these for watching movies/ shows from my tab and not for listening to music.
