What MCB for 1.5 ton ac ?

16A type C. Buying 32A mcb for a 2-3kw load is stupidity

Harsh but true. Installers insisted on a 32A breaker even though the manual indicated 16A max draw (worst case scenario).

I had a 16A breaker on another circuit that kept tripping due to inverter charging after a power cut so I swapped it out with this 32A one and put the 16A for the AC.

The 16A one didn't trip even once with the AC during the past summer.

AC is a 1 star 2 ton unit from a few years ago so it pulls 2kW on average.

edit: I misremembered, recommended rating is 25A for 2T according the manual:

1, Check the label on AC, It will have Wattage and Current. Calculate current = Wattage/Voltage. Usually 16A single phase MCB is ok for 1.5T.
If ur 1.5T AC is tripping the MCB, then ur AC has a fault. It could be less gas also. It means ur AC is drawing more than rated current and MCB is tripping to protect ur AC.
DOnt go for a higher rating MCB else u will cause damage to AC
