trying to find a bloat free pdf reader which render texts that's easy for eyes.
tried couple of them, mostly FOSS, not a single one render fonts comparable to what mac preview displays.

Foxit back is days in win7 days dominated, with just 1.3mb footprint and easy for eyes. current version sucks in all possible ways, trying to mimic itself a MS word.

Currently using Sumatra (primary my comics reader), but its straining my eyes very very quick while dealing with text.
I keep on falling back to Edge browser - which render the best font in windows platform.

Does anyone know knows a better pdf reader for lengthy session , like 2-3hr reading at a stretch ?

Check free ebook readers .epub extension, many support pdf too.
You will find a perfect solution, but there are many free options (so search is ur best friend)

On Android, PocketBook is the best reader I've come across, for pdf, epub and other formats.

On Windows, I've currently installed Bluestacks and use PocketBook in that. I've been using it for a very long time and just can't use anything else.

Fonts are quite clear and a good selection available to choose from on the fly with epub.

This company makes ereaders as well and is based on Switzerland. Too bad they aren't easily available locally.

Full-time comic nerd here. :p

Here's the ones I use.

Windows:

- Icecream E-book Reader Pro + f.lux for late-night reading

-
Calibre for management and organization

Android:

- Moon+ Reader Pro + E-book mode on my Honor x9b for late-night reading

- Mihon for comics/manga/manhwa/manhua (Piracy-centric but there's an option for importing and managing local sources) + Koguma to manage and keep metadata updated.

These mainly cover every extension you could think of in terms of digital literature from PDFs to CBZ and even uncompressed .ZIPs for comic relases.

Apart from these, PDFgear on Windows is a pretty nifty PDF reader with many features.

true @ibose .
In fact Edge is using adobe engine to render, thats why, in my end it seems to be better than any others.
And here I thought that only I am the only one who thinks Edge browser is better as PDF reader. Lol.

I have also tried SUMATRA PDF. Great , lightweight reader but sometimes it fails to load PDF properly especially if the PDF contains graphics (like charts, and graphs)

Never really liked FOXIT READER.

In terms of purely PDF readers, the next best thing after Adobe Reader itself is PDFGear in my opinion. Never fails me regardless of the PDF type and graphics.

I will give PDFGEAR a try. The Adobe reader is a resource hog and always wants you to buy their ridiculously priced subscription.

I took a look at it earlier -

Nothing out of the ordinary for a freeware. They mention in their terms of service and on the installation package readme as well that Google Analytics is used to collect device, geographical and ad related data.

There are some excellent freeware which don't do that but I understand the need to be able to generate some revenue. The creator can give an option to pay to opt out of the data collection.
Besides you can block that activity with this and use it offline safely.

You can opt out of Google Analytics if I remember correctly from your IP from somewhere in the Google Account's Privacy Settings.
