Your headline is click bait, so probably you should change it. The article itself mentions that she was undergoing normal medical treatment (chemotherapy, radiation, immunotherapy) supported by the diet. If anything, she had the best treatment money could afford in India.

The diet was supplementary and did not cure cancer.

from same source where you got that it 100% cure via Medicine (chemotherapy, radiation, immunotherapy) and not via diet

Don't want to make this an argument but I had an elderly family member go the traditional route and lose life to cancer in months even when detected at an early stage by refusing to undertake proper treatment.

It is same as what Steve Jobs did before it was too late.

Nothing against the traditional medicines, they can supplement but it shouldn't be thought of as a cure.

Ayurveda does f all. My grandfather had cancer and i think he had no option left ( i was young, dont know details). My parents are similar to you, with this unwavering belief on 'ancient medical science'.
We went to 'good' Ayurveda doctor here, very popular in expensive area. Assh*le had a look, and refused to treat and sent us back.

All these ch**iyapathies always claim to solve things that right now are impossible or difficult to solve and in reality they do shit. Time after time i have seen that they don't.
My parents will always be like this and always have an excuse and an unshakeable belief. Cant do anything about this. Politicians only encourage this unfortunately.

Just like Adulterated/sub-standard modern medicine do more harm than benefit, same theory applies to any other therapy in world.

I don't remember exactly the story but one famous ancient Indian Ayurveda Rishi noted that any person allow to treat patient with Ayurveda as Independent practitioner only if he/she gone through minimum 20 yrs. of practice under his/her Guru.

.. are you 100% sure that Steve Job didn't did a single treatment with Modern Medicine while he is living in USA and was afford to buy anything that can be done with money?

We Indians are obsessed with makeshifts (jugaad) and glorify them to our own doom.

Traditional medicines are for traditional diseases, not for some genetic or cellular level abnormality like cancer.

He was heavily into spiritual stuff like ISKCON and Buddhism, all his life he had been successful by not listening to other people, and he thought he will be able to treat the cancer with fruits. He also didn't shower enough and was known for smelling horrible and not using deodorant because he had convinced himself that his fruit based diet did not create any body odours.

"Navjot Kaur’s journey is a reminder that while lifestyle changes can complement medical care, they are not substitutes for evidence-based treatment."

Modern medicine, immuno-theraphy, etc. might be the root cause behind the cure.
There were some research on how cancer cells thrives on glucose availability and have a tendency to lose vigor once deprived of glucose, so diet and herbs may have had some influence. But, without methodical study, cannot give dependable statements.

You don't understand the business model, traditional medicines are for anyone who has lost all hope and is looking to try anything. It's the perfect business as if your product does jack sh*t or even accelerates the death of your customer, you still don't have to take any responsibility, he was dying anyway! And the 3% of your customers that will inevitably survive thanks to statistics, you can parade around as proof of your miraculous treatment methods.

We shouldn't care about celebrities/politicians with fat monies spewing non-sense, but the common people indeed lost faith in modern science because they cant afford anything. I blame the mediocre education/healthcare system for making the world a living hell for everyone. Trust in science, but never trust the scientist/doctors who can be as corrupt as their overlords.

what if same corrupt scientist/doctors prove it via Science, like famous Baby Powder, which used by generation and after some 30 yrs, it found to be Carcinogens?

Few people here who lost loved one via cancer blames Ayurveda but what about those soul who lost battling cancer using modern science medicine , didn't those people trust on Science (Scientifically proved medicine/therapies etc. etc.) and what science gave them finally?
I don't want to argue with you, but the very reason we are alive and healthy (to whatever extent that is) and not dying because of pesky mosquito bite is because of modern medicine. Does it mean we have cure for everything ? Not yet, but we have proven record of modern medicine detecting/curing life threatening diseases.
BTW no one blames Ayurveda but the people who seek it for cancer treatment due to some delusional moron spreading false information to gain political credits/votes.

Look at this:

You cant blame science for this, it all comes down to corporate greed. This is the world we live in. Scientific method works, we all follow/benefit from it one way or the other in our daily life but we choose to selectively discard/discredit when it clashes with our belief system.

What he said would have gained more credibility had he mentioned what kind of medical treatment she received. He makes it seem like its all because of his home remedies which is BS

@Emperor what you are posting is click-baity complete superstitious nonsense. I have lost a parent to cancer, and it is a very complex disease, with periods of highs and very lows. Half the battle is in the mind, it’s easy to fall into depression, even with the best of treatment and medicine.

there is already enough pseudoscience and quacks in this country, we don’t need more of this in this forum.

It is all over national news, this forum is not isolated from the world around it.
Deleting openly popular news from this forum is not going to make anyone more intelligent nor blindside the contend nationally, would rather like to see some sane-headed discussions and bring some sense to the topic. More openness with pragmatic approach, balanced discussions, avoid name calling or personal attacks would be the right way. Unfortunately, sometimes the self anointed gatekeepers of modern science seems to be more pervasive and boneheaded with their cultist behavior, bringing in damage as equivalent as alternative-therapists.
Personally won't encourage or anyway support taking Ayurveda alone to serious ailments when modern medicine is available, but would like to see Ayurveda used in a holistic approach, if it benefit the patient.
Half the battle is in the mind
Is this science ? How can it be empirically and scientifically proven ? /s
So, you mean modern medicine is only 50% effective, the rest is placebo effect aka even traditional medicines can make that difference ? /s
