Forum Feedback Clarification regarding a Recent deal of Mine

Hi everyone, I am writing this thread as a clarification regarding the problem that occurred due to a sale of mine, which eventually lead to the ban of my account.

I sold a graphics card, an Inno3d TwinX2 RTX 3070 to @asimh99 few months ago, which went dead a day after the day of delivery. There could have been several reasons behind the card dying, one of them possibly being the high temps.
I am from Siliguri, and at my place, the ambient temps on the card were ~45 idle, and ~85 peak, while at the customer's place, in Kashmir, it peaked above 90 degrees.
Can't blame anyone as things are unpredictable.

The thread for the same is here : https://techenclave.com/threads/geforce-rtx-3070-inno3d-twinx2-graphics-card.221710/

The thread literally went viral, people calling me scammer, fraud, seller of stolen cards, selling repaired cards, and what not. Despite I was continuously in touch with the customer for the card and trying to sort the matter.
People from the forum went hunting down for my social media accounts, YouTube, github, and even LinkedIn. I had like some 50 hate comments on most of my social posts.

Later, we settled the matter on sharing the loss, and a return of the item.

Writing up this post so that things can be transparent to other users on the forum as well, and also a lesson for me to have good testing and validation of items before I sell them out anywhere.
Thanks to mods and admins for helping me regain access to my account.

All's well that ends well. Shit happens, and being self-aware of a problem goes a long way. Good luck to you and your future interactions on the forum :)

Personally, I wouldn't have taken back the card unless if I'd refunded the entire amount, but that is based on my own understanding of karmic debt. I understand not everyone can afford to be so idealistic so you're not being judged here.

There were multiple oversights in that transaction on behalf of both the seller and buyer and I'm just relieved that I was neither.

Hopefully it'll be a learning opportunity for spectators, especially in respect to packaging since styrofoam/thermocoule is so inexpensive.

If it were some other component, a go through could have been done before concluding it was dead.
But in case of Graphics cards, the scene gets a bit tough as many things can go wrong, without even being visible.
And the pressure by all other members on the thread, like literally, people have so much spare time to go and hunt down for my other platform accounts xD

Had no other option left rather than to take the item back with partial refund.
Anyways it was a good learning lesson, looking forward to give good to the forum, and vice versa.

If an item is not covered by the manufacturer's warranty, a minimum of three to seven days should be allowed for testing. If something dies the very next day, it's likely an indication that your part is already dying.. this is a risk you always carry buying 2nd and items. at the same time single electric surge is enough to fry electrical components. so buyer should also use it carefully.

Flipping hardware from TE market is not recommended :
https://techenclave.com/threads/dhoomketu.223295/#post-2564764

Reselling in user-to-user marketplace is not allowed.

Take some time to go through the market rules.
Actually sir, won't be flipping here on TE.
I build systems locally for people, not a professional nor a dealer.
I just make builds as a hobby, and get nearby people into the tech line, also getting them better value for deals than what the local store owners usually do (sell whatever expensive and inefficient they got)
