Anything that has battery in it should be carried by carry-in luggage. This is very stricyly followed post samsung note 7 fiasco, However occasionally missed. Imagine any battery bursting into flames along with other passengers luggage in the storage area.

None of performance front. Just used a different silencer for a year or 2 before returning to original one which gives the best pickup & performance. The engine is not that much capable for any kind of mods. You can try if you want, but it won't make much of a difference. I may be wrong though .
