Check out www.techshop.in hd6950 "2gb" for 15.9k . If you can spend a bit more for a 2gb version or else your mentioned one is good too (you should definately look at 2gb ones imho , who knows ,you might be lucky to unlock it to full hd6970 ! Particulary the powercolor one 15.9k many success...

Yeah and dont forget to click on "show processes from all users" . Happened with me once . Just killing it won't solve as it has found a way into your registry . You would have to manually remove it . Just post the name of that process which is using 100% cpu , then we will help you further ...

Spending 40k on HD7970 is not a good deal imo . Overpriced if you ask me . Get instead HD6990 or gtx590 for same price . Or just get HD7950 at 32k . 8k cheaper but ~10% slower ; ie 20% more money and 10% faster . So you decide . Even gtx580s have dropped as low as 28k are good deals too

Can't agree more Arun ! GPU you mentioned is more than capable of producing 40-70 fps and 100-120 is not even required for enjoying gaming . Look at it this way , if he buys a new cpu and cheap out on gpu , he is kinda stuck at same performance levels and cannot get more unless he purchases...

Why not go with i5 760 lynnfield . It's definately overclockable and powerful enough for 10k (you won't need to change mobo) . Will leave you with 10k more to go with HD6850/70 .
