v6 is a mess. my connection to an upstream dns stopped working and it has also thrown ntp sync erros. v5 was much smoother.
installing v5 now is also not easy, it could fail at any step. v5 and v6 uses different installers and different file names.
an expensive body won't just produce a better image, the technical knowledge (at least familiarity with the exposure triangle) and composition is what matters. you can get a dirt cheap body and produce excellent results out of it. the better the body the more complex it is to use. higher-end...
