@Marcus: Because Sandy's due to out in Jan next year. IMHO, waiting two months at a time will tempt you with the news of the next two months to come - OT: Q1 of '11 will probably bring better (hardware/priced) GFX too, but if that's reason to wait, you'll be tempted to wait a pretty looong time

+1 for the AMD recommendations - rock-solid VFM for the (wallet) cutting-edge gamer ! ^^

@the bluray drive comments - Panasonic should be available through Computer Warehouse (Barton Center, Bangalore, not sure where the OP's from) for about 6.5k INR :) Personally I'd build a mid-range with up-end Gfx and PSU and loads of RAM, but that's one BIG rig you're putting together; cheers !
