Android os generally doesn't have this facility no matter which brand you use or how much you pay. This phone is no exception. I've read that samsung fascinate in uk has patched their phone for 3g calls, but it is an exception than a norm.

@sunil : If you have rooted your phone and the recovery key combination doesn't work for you means that stock recovery mode/key is something else.....I will find out and tell. Install Rom manager and Clockwork mod ...... you will surely get this recovery..... also don't forget to make a backup...
