I have finished all the mainline 3d games except GTA 3. San andreas and gta 4 are absolutely worth playing through. Strong writing and characters. Something that shaped RDR2. Although there are some missions in both games that completely suck.

IMO, the price difference is too neglible warrant the need to buy a refurbished product. I have never seen a refurbished product in amazon which is a great deal. I think it's just better to go for the new product along with the warranty.
