Sorry!! Uregistered members and members with less than 10 posts cannot view this code.
now i wonder why is such gimmicks needed , just to make newbies feel mystified or there is a reason for it ??
Such things are really needed in warez/pr0n forums not tech forums
Hi Talky,
This feature has been implemented as a measure, to prevent users or guests or people just registering to see a few links.
Also, the place where this is going to be 100% functional isnt up yet.
We shall be opening that section soon.
A few things need to be implemented in order to maintain quality, thus, the Team as a whole decided this fact.
hmm, they are needed in cases where there are some premium links that we need to protect from being leeched. A perfect example can be an ebook link or say some cool hack that member has made or found which he wants to protect from being leeched.
Actually its really a premium feature… and 10 posts ain’t that much is it?
Don’t take it to the heart my friend,on our ex forums we had people just registering for the ebook section,it was very enyoing to see the amount of people that just say 1 or 2 words for an ebook and never visit the site or give the credit back to us.
In no time you will get your 10 posts, there are 100’s hundreds of useful threads for all teasts and colours.
Btw your Nick is Talky is that another way of pronouncing spamy
There’s a ebook section ??? i dont see it !! Anyways unless a member is posting a link on his own server , there shdnt be any protection , coz its not his responsibility to do so and also if the “premium” stuff is public why do u put a premium on it ?? If anti -leech property is to be ensured its the responsibility of the hosting site of doing so , are u afraid of slashdotting sites ??? there are many ppl , who may be members of forums but dont like posting much (or are too busy to spam unlike me ) and prefer reading stuff (i do it at manyyyyyyy sites , coz i have places i prefer for spamming )they shdnt be deprived of premium benefits , shd they ! i strongly feel such rules have no good use but to annoy users and i normally abhor places wich keeps such rules , coz its like forcing me to spam (wich i dont mind normally)
eeeks , Albert just saw ur post , i dont mind the 10 post rule (i am good at finding stuff , so dont care for it , benefits of running a few wa*** channels) but its wat my general perception about such rule is ! if the forum are really good , once registered and visited the member would post automatically without anyone forcing him/her to do so !! and if u really want to avoid such users , the rule is no good , anybody can say hi/bye stuff in 5 mins. 10 times , and then leech away !! u shd have a 10post / week rule if u wanna really enforce a policy
There ** was **an ebook section.
It is currently down and no visible to any members.
We prefer that our members get quality links and the link is still working and hot before it is taken down due to leeching.
Thus, we have taken some countermeasures and, as of now we have no plans to remove it
hmm well talky, on the specific question of ebooks forums, it may be useless for u and me(i happened to actually run a channel on this), there are u will agree lots of people out there who are not so good at finding things.
Also the 10 post rule is here to stay. I have seen too many forums and too many places where direct links are misused to not to have that.
