$100K fee for a H1B visa from now on

It may not be just him. Chances are there are other employees too.

So the total may amount to more than 100,000.

Obviously, it affects all tech companies as their H1B ratio might be at least a third of their total workforce.

You do know that they are “undocumented” only for exploitation. America could throw them out tomorrow, but then they will have no one to pick those fruits at $3 an hour in hot sun with no benefits and complete control of the rich farmers.

A friend of mine, currently studying there sent me this.

He is in F-1 currently but he also said he has to come to India for the H1B stamp so there’s no clarity on the future for current students.

“… has seen reports” is probably not the best way to respond to a direct statement. Gives off a rumor mill vibe, unprofessional.

Also, they need to employ a better typesetter/editor, this government appears to be stuck in amateur hour in one way or another.

It just reads like a lot of words that don’t say anything at all.

Their federal court likely to object this decision. It’ll probably have to go through Congress and that may take longer.

Paying up 100K for the right candidate is a better choice than the govt fail in the court and impose shadow bans . That would be worse .

This looks LLM-generated, is there a source that confirms the situation for current students and future students?

Only way any of this remotely makes sense is for folks looking to enter US without doing any investment, like taking on education fees.

I used to have a fascination for the US about a decade and a half ago when I joined the IT workforce. Each year as I built my niche and as income went up and most important of all… I got a girlfriend, knocked some sense into me in looking at moving countries, especially the USA, with the right lens. Today, I wouldn’t touch it with a barge pole.

Following both Indian and other law crime investigations over the last couple of decades, it is now clear to me that India is the best place to be right now even with all the inefficiencies and corruption etc. There is lot less psychosis in society here than anywhere in the West, especially in the USA. Possibly due to the abundance of eyes. I can deal with entitled officials, but not psychos roaming the streets freely with no one caring. Their gun culture alone should’ve been a deterrent, but money fascination overrode it. Now, this should deter even more. I guess it’s all for the better.

Am not sure, there was some info spreading that it’s $100k per application, if the application is rejected money is gone. Not sure about this…

No. Not the case. This fees is after the H1B is approved. The application fees is much lower ~ $500.

The new $100K H-1B fee mainly applies to new H-1B petitions for workers outside the U.S. and is a one-time fee, not yearly. It doesn’t apply to current H-1B holders, renewals, or extensions filed inside the U.S., and people who already hold valid H-1B status generally aren’t charged just for traveling and re-entering.

So if you already have a valid H-1B and stamp, normal short travel and re-entry should usually be fine, but always confirm with your employer or attorney before leaving, just to be safe.

Travel only if you have a high amount of debt and are not inclined to pay it back.

So now, $200k for Granada passport + $100k as business investment gets an Indian into US, I suppose?

This shit is getting repealed day one at next admin lol

Assuming the next admin is a democrat, which I find unlikely because Trump still has a lot of bargaining chips to make sure the next admin is Red
