recieved but easus partition manager shows “caution”, is this safe?

crystaldiskinfo also shows this

It should be fine if the imp SMART stats are fine, sometimes overzealous apps show caution and warnings for some trivial SMART threshold breaches.

Now these are the imp ones

  1. Current Pending Sector Count
  2. Reallocated Sectors Count
  3. Uncorrectable Sector Count

Current Pending Sector Count means that there was some read error/corruption in 8 sectors, try writing the whole disk with zero (or an extended self test) and if it goes away you should be fine, until the reallocated sector count or uncorrectable sector count increase you should be good.

And brother, unless I am seeing something wrong, the power on hours, disk serial no shared (by OP) in the screenshot is different from yours. I hope you asked for latest/correct screenshots

Im transferring my 512gb ssd files to it.. it will make the hdd almost full

Nope, i didn’t asked latest ss..why should i techenclave marketplace require user to put accurate data about what they are selling. Im testing it by transferring files to it, lets see how this goes.

Crystaldiskinfo is from another drive.
Oddly the power on has a mismatch for the same drive.

I hear you brother and there are people here on TE I deal with my eyes closed, but there is no substitute for due diligence, at least for the first time you are dealing with someone.

And not to jump onto malice, I think seller has an entire lot of Toshiba drives, and he was a bit lazy with his approach. You should return the drive as it’s not the same as advertised, even if it works now.

It’s totally my mistake I didn’t check the disk serial number correctly. I tested both drives back-to-back, and I don’t know how that happened.

If the buyer needs a refund, I can provide that.

Yeah that must be the case. File transfer is done near 50% and cautious state turned into “good”. There’s no yellow in crystaldiskinfo. But i will test it further

Yeah Current pending sector count in itself is harmless but do keep an eye on the other two I mentioned. Try to get an extension on testing warranty from the seller if you want to keep it.

You can send me another drive, after recieving, i will pay for it too if both (this one and the other one you will send) drive turned out to be working fine. If not i will send back the non working one.

Yes i am planning to test it by filling the drive few times in a row overnight. Extention will be nice too.. not a big deal but I have no space for backup even for the not so important data which i kinda don’t want to loose..

I’m not in a position to replace it. You can test the drive roughly,

If you think it doesn’t meet your use case, you can return it.

Too much work pressure nowadays, so can’t be home for much time, atleast this week. Can you extend the return period?

Btw this is the current state, i hope this works good

I totally understand that.
I can provide a testing period until this Saturday, 6/12

Saturday is workday too. Can you do it until sunday?

Came home today and didnt see the drive in file manager. Checked disk management, it was asking me to set gpt/mbr and drive was unallocated. All files gone in it thankfully i didn’t deleted the source drive. This toshiba drive fails ro retain any file after 1 or 2 power cycle.

Since i bought it for 650, delivery alone will cost me 150rs. So 500rs, 150 gone. I will pack it on Saturday and send it back to you at Sunday
