My ViewSonic 32inch monitor is somewhat dead. half screen. is dark and content is hard to observe. sometime fixes itself. Now the issue is its max 75hz. My primary is already a LG 27inch 2k 144hz monitor. both are being used on Mac and windows. LG one is really bad with color reproduction if related to work. I almost have to drag the work UI to confirm color accuracy on my 32 inch monitor.
So working or monitor is normally one for 12 to 14 hrs daily. I might not be using it but it’s on.
My plan is to make new 32inch 4k my primary monitor and the 27inch one secondary one. what options do I have here?
mentioned working hrs for the burning in issue with oled. ips don’t give true darks.
productivity work is (coding+ui +video editing)
Gaming is Valorant, CS 2, and anything else in gaming.
The OLED Burn-In Test: 18-Month Update | TechSpot https://share.google/GRaL6z1qjVyuky6rO
I guess OLED burn-in is a thing of the past. Unless you have something static (like the taskbar)
It’s not a problem. And also, monitors have pixel refresh/cleaning or whatever it’s called for burn-ins. So your best upgrade must be OLED.Can see mini LED monitor as other option.
If your work is something really static in nature then I won’t recommend this. But if you do might as well use this.
I don’t game a lot so I am happy with 60hz basic IPS. Only OLED gives you best of both worlds , until then you either have to choose a gaming monitor or productivity monitor.
I am using it, but take a lot of precautions and dont have space for 2 monitors. Worst case if it burns badly, i will buy a new one but hoping for 5+years. We have 3 years warranty.
Best case i think is to code on IPS and play on oled, since you plan to have two monitors. This was my ideal but i dont have space.
32 4k oled is beautiful, but you can also go with 1440p 27 oleds which are much cheaper and faster.
Another alternative is a miniled but it does have pros and cons that you should check first.
