Dont know..U google that file as i specified, it will lead to bjorn3D.. He has tried to fix issue, check that..
:
i dont think its about the NV file…i got 9800GX2 runnin 85 to 90degree during grid game play with 175.19drivers…i had no pblms at all…maybe some pblm with the game…or the nv driver version u’ve downloaded…
ok .. here is what i did..
right click on desktop > opened Nvidia control panel > Manage 3d settings > added GRID.EXE to the list of : I would like to use the following 3d settings
the game did not crash, but it showed some signs of artifacts (diagonal steps all over the screen for 10 seconds) the screen flickered back to the game and i went on gaming for about 1 hour without any more crashes.. temperature was stuck at 78-79c.. I was playing the 24 houvre Le mans.. no issues at all ![]()
I am going out on a limb here but maybe Grid makes use of certain chips on the GPU that no other games do; and those particular chips are faulty on your 8800GT.
Try running Grid at the absolute lowest resolution and detail settings and see if it still crashes. And more importantly if the temperature still rises.
I have had a friend report frequent crashes while playing GRID. ![]()
9800GTX iirc.
GRID demo ran fine on my 8800GT FYI.
Hmm and NV was vehemently denying their desktop chips had the packaging issue faced by the notebook chips.
Game artifacting is a bad sign, post a screenshot. Cause if its just texture rendering gone awry, it should be a software issue, snowing or texture corruption should be a cause of worry…
lol psot more spam message ![]()
well stick u vista 32 bit or xp 32 bit it might improve fps rat e:rofl:
i test all high at my 7900 gtx my tem full is 70-74 never go high i set fan speed 80%

even intel duo 2 with 7900 gtx and 7950 gt work no problem
^^ whos posting spam message
?
anyways .. still the same thing.. crashes with the same driver.. tried it with the lowest resolution.. the temps took a long time to rise though .. but eventually touched 84c and crashed… ![]()
looks like i will have to sell off my GRID ![]()
I would really want to post a screeny .. but when i took the screenshot and saved it under mspaint.. the pic comes fine without any artifacts
.. vista sure knows how to test a person’s mental stability ![]()
my XFX 8800GT @ 700-1750-999 on GRID runs at 75-78*C@90% Duty Cycle
What fan do u have on ur card?.. singleslot?
I have a Dual slot Zalman, and its quite silent
single slot MSI OC edition 512 MB .. it never got so hot with other games till date.. only with GRID
If its a gpu error it should show in the screenshot too, I may long way off here, but if you have an SLI mobo try using the other pcie slot, also reseat the card anyways…
IMO its a combination of drivers + OS, NV’s vista support is not so great + 64bit etc…
