9800x3d 5070ti build; is this pricing fair?

TLDR; Buying from sp road. Quote attached. Please suggest if prices are fair. Notes on build are appreciated as well.

Hi folks,

All new TE was a bright surprise. Until it took me 10 mins to find where the option to create a new post was hidden[on desktop] :smiling_face_with_tear:

Here’s my “on the go” build. Small yet didn’t wanna go ITX. [perhaps in the future]

  • Ant Esports Box C Air -3717
  • Gigabyte RTX 5070 Ti WINDFORCE SFF- 83300
  • Gigabyte B850M GAMING- 15045
  • AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D- 45076
  • XPG Lancer CL30 RGB 16GBx2- 10620
  • Corsair SF850 SFX- 17110
  • ADATA 860 M2 Nvme 2TB- 10384
  • Ant C612 Digital ARGB Cooler- 2124
  • Ant ARGB Case Fansx3- 1995

Other peripherals to complete the “on the go” build

  • LG C1 Oled 120hz [on wall]
  • Acer Nitro 275U 170Mhz [can travel]
  • Razer Cobra Pro Wireless
  • Razer Blackwidow V3 Pro Wireless

Notes

  • The Ant case isn’t great but it will do until I can source a nicer m-ATX case.
  • The PSU is overkill but its a lightweight 950g, which I love.
  • Wanted a Deepcool AG400 Digital but wasn’t available with dealer. Alternative suggested was the Ant; cheaper and no bad reviews, I thought what the heck, might as well go “all ant”. [ant psu anyone?]

What will I do with system?
Play games AAA RPGs/Action/Adventure + 4X Strategy + FM24. Have another 12400f/3080 FE build which can run everything in 1440p, except maybe Wukong. Now I can go 4k 120hz but mostly it was an itch that needed scratching.

Please suggest if these prices are fair. There was a time when SP road prices were cheaper than online but Computech has my guy beat. Are other SP road dealers offering better rates?

I am partial to buying from my dealer as there’s never been a problem in 15+ years and 6 builds and many parts. Every warranty issue is handled by him, I just have to send the item. Though I’m assuming this is the case for all the big shops in SP road. Are most of you buying online now? Isn’t handling warranty issues a pain?

PS: A side quest I’m completing here is to post again. Been busy for the past 12 odd years. My last post was in 2014 looking for Gmail invites. Member, lurker since 2005 and even before when all this started on Thinkdigit forums. I came back here to research the rig before buying and saw the new TE and wanted to join up again. Forgive me for any transgressions, did not read the community guidelines yet. soon

Hello World

I find SP Road pricing to be on the expensive side, except for a few components. Your dealer must be one of the better ones—or perhaps they’ve changed—if they’re actually providing warranty support. In my experience, most of them tend to wash their hands of any issues by directing you to the brand’s warranty service.

Prices look good but opt for a better cpu cooler, something like cooler master 620s or ANT C621.

avoid gigabyte gpus this gen

Deepcool CH260 has been released not too long ago, might be worth taking a look at it. It’s a M-ATX case and given how good the CH160 (itx) case is, it won’t be a bad choice.
Go through a few reviews before taking any decision though.

Any particular reason for going for a platinum PSU? A decent gold PSU will be atleast 40%b cheaper ain’t it?

elaborate plz, i am curious and your info might come in handy for op too

Its dimensions are larger than the ant box c. I want a small and lightweight build. I know its not a great case but for 3-6months it’s a good deal at 3700.
I want the Zonsbo z20 in all honesty but its not being sold in India. I’ll get it somehow.

950g. Amazing energy density.

I did mention in my post that I know it’s overkill and I’m okay with it.

Want a single tower air cooler. Should be fine for my usage.

But I did go back to him with Artic 36 ARGB, if he can find it.
Or Imma skip rgb and go for full black ak400 which is in stock.

Please don’t cheap out on the case.

Think you are doing good with the PSU. You will have about a 100w headroom for you to upgrade your GPU in the future.
Plus if money permits, the hihgest efficiency in a PSU is achieved around the 30-50% mark and that suits well with your build.

Plus I honestly wouldnt go for a full ATX PSU these days, you can get from 350-1100w SFX ones, with high efficiency. And this gives you the ability to go SFX build in the future. Which is all I care for these days.

Now here’s someone who gets me. Totally with you, #SFFFever

I love this psu and it could last me a long time. It’s my favorite component on the list.

Any reasons why not? I’m gonna get the case I want eventually. Dees it not make sense to get a cheap case for a few months?

Is it dangerous to the build somehow?

I dont think so.
Case is the only component you can cheap out on and to some extent Case Fans, and the system wont go kaput because of cheap components.

Heck one can even use Mobo box as a case to build a computer as a open air one and it would suffice.

Change the mobo to any wifi one and change both the CPU cooler & fans since this is your total build at one time not upgrading from an existing one.

Get any MSI, Gigabyte and Asrock B850M wifi mobos and Arctic 36 ARGB CPU cooler or Deepcool AG400 CPU cooler and Arctic or Deepcool 120mm ARGB fans. Okay.

Arctic products carry 6 years warranty and that’s why the hefty price when compared with others.

Normally all mobos carry 3 years warranty while Zotac gives 2+3 years extended warranty on its GPUs in India.

Sapphire also is giving 3 years warranty on its GPUs regarding RX 9070 XT GPUs.

Rumour is that RTX 5070 super 18GB and RTX 5070Ti super 24GB is going to come in a month or so while RX 9080 XT 32GB is going to come on AMDs side.

But these will be priced higher initially and will come down after 6 months or so.

By that time RTX 6000 series will get released and this process continues every year.

It is a wifi b850 motherboard.

I concur on the Artic or Deepcool cooler. Gotta get one of those.

I know about the upcoming cards. I follow Moore’s Law is Dead, Techpowerup and pretty much every techtuber. They are like the Graphics card TMZ.

Just get an Arctic Freezer 36. I got it last month for 3.1K on computech. It’s more than enough

gigabyte has issue with leaking of some thermal paste

Also today some models coming below MSRP from AMD processor , have to wait for our region
