Aadhaar update gets easier from November 1: UIDAI announces new rules; check Aadhaar update new fee structure, PAN linking and other information

Effective November 1, 2025, Aadhaar updates for name, address, and mobile number can be initiated online via the myAadhaar portal, eliminating the need for in-person visits for many demographic changes. Biometric updates still require a visit to an Aadhaar Seva Kendra. The UIDAI has also revised fee structures and emphasized timely PAN-Aadhaar linkage.

The Aadhaar programme is undergoing a major update in its service procedures as the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) sets to implement new rules effective from November 1, 2025. Under the new system, for many demographic changes such as name, address, date of birth and mobile number, Aadhaar card-holders will no longer need to visit an Aadhaar Seva Kendra (enrolment centre).

They will be able to initiate updates online through the myAadhaar portal, which will integrate verification through existing government databases. At the same time, UIDAI has revised the fee structure for demographic and biometric updates and emphasised time‐bound linking with the PAN (Permanent Account Number). These changes aim to improve convenience, reduce paperwork and enhance data accuracy across the 14-digit enrolments.

UIDAI announces key changes in Aadhaar update process: What to know

From November 1 onwards, the following procedural changes will apply:

  • Card-holders seeking to update name, address, date of birth or mobile number will be able to initiate the request online through the myAadhaar portal, provided the mobile number linked with the Aadhaar is active.

  • Biometric changes such as fingerprint, iris or photograph updates will still require an in-person visit to an Aadhaar Seva Kendra.

  • Document uploads and automated inter-database verification will be utilised to minimise manual intervention.

  • The official UIDAI portal lists all supported demographic and biometric updates, modes of update (online, post, centre) and the respective required documentation.

Buddy in your pursuit of getting to the top of the leaderboard you’re spamming with every news. You’ve already made 3k points in last quarter, most can’t make so much in years, I myself use te more than any other platform so I know how hard it is.

Don’t want to come off as rude but sometimes checking new content and all I see is bssunilreddy enclave.

I agree man, te is becoming more like a new channel these days

Let’s make a petition for @bssunilreddy enclave :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

Republic strikes again. Made another app when there already is aadhar app mAadhaar.

My daughter’s name was changed in Aadhar due to her name change in board exams so I also had to change my name in the aadhar. But I didn’t know the procedure and the local post office told me wait a month so I am waiting right now .

In this way many will be trying to know what are the new rules of Aadhar updation.

That’s why I posted this news.

I selectively post only those news which might be of importance to TE members.

Not specifically about you but I don’t get the logic or obsession for govt babus behind changing your name for correcting child’s documents.

I have a typo in my father’s name in passport. Now to correct this they are asking my father to issue a name change ad in newspapers !

In Telangana and AP surnames will be last but here in TN surnames will be first so I already had my daughter’s Aadhar done by changing her birth certificate. Birth Certificate name correction was a ramayana for us and costly too.

Now they are saying for my kids 10th and 12th classes I too need to change my surname to be 1st in my name.

So I went to nearest PO but here the person who do Aadhar registrations revolve between 2 post offices month after month.

I somehow got my CGHS card rectified for the new surname. Using this now I need to change my surname in my name to come 1st.

Now that person will come this month to my nearest PO and she will go again to another PO next month.

I don’t think that’s the reason, especially since he’s on a 3-month cooldown after winning MOTM in August. I think that this is just how he spends the majority of his time and likes doing so.

As someone who spent five hours updating my number for upi pay later, I needed to see this news.

It’s about time! It was absolute insanity having to go the aadhar center at sunrise, get a token, wait until noon just to update my number.

The news by itself is qualified under Enclave Community News. It is correct to post under here. So why the fuss. The bias that everyone has is because he has MOTM badge next to his. Forget all those fancy name tags for the time being.

Please do remember, no matter how much we know there is equally things we don’t know. In our busy life it is difficult to remember all these things.

Even if we look at Aadhaar news, there were so many extensions by IT department to link Aadhaar with PAN. They have extended the time limit so many times that I thought it was old news. And even have a senior citizen who couldn’t link his because of his name on them, now another chance to do so. And that modification of Aadhaar using UIDAI was also made several times, though in part. Now its even better.

I am for sharing good information and more healthy discussions and not garbage discussions that make us truly feel useless.

Jeez… Govt. and institution’s obsession on how we should pronounce our own name.

They only have to ask First Name, Middle / Father / Mother Name if any, Last name and how you want it to appear. But no, have to be in their own moronic ways.

Had to go through these kind of difficult procedures and work with obtuse, mentally geriatric staff in different levels, reminds me those times.
