if you are thinking to mix match the ram, don’t do it. if you not get the same model and frequency, CL. you can also sell that ram and buy two of the same model, size, speed.
Honestly I never had issues with using different brand rams of the same class and frequency.
When I tried 2 additional sticks along with my existing kit while AM4 they began to give BSODS and freezes unless I use only 1 set of Rams.
So I sold 1 kit and used the other one.
I am unhappy now that I should have 64GB 6000Mhz CL30 kit instead of 32GB kit but now 32GB itself is 25k while 64GB is 50k
Thanks guys. That’s also why I’m looking for an Adata ram at this time. Usually, setting the timings manually should be alright. I have mixed and matched ram sticks previously too and didn’t have a problem but yes, I know YMMV.
More importantly though, is there anyone that’s even willing to sell a stick? ![]()
I mixed a 3000mhz and 3200Mhz ram (ran at 3000) was mostly fine except for some BSOD (that said “memory management” error) 2-3 times per month. If dual channel ram is not an absolute must for your needs, you could try mixing different rams. I had a dedicated gpu then so it didn’t really matter to me whether I was running in dual channel or not.
Still looking for a 16gb single stick, 3200 MT/s & CL16 please.
