Advice for a PC build around the 9060XT

Hey guys! I’ve been recently lurking bit in this forum and it feels like an amazing community for Indian PC enthusiasts. I’m planning to build my first PC before the end of this year and was really happy to come across TE so I can finally get some advice and opinions from the more experienced veterans around here instead of just second guessing myself at every step. Following older discussions by some members like @OMEGA44-XT and @bssunilreddy has already helped me a lot!

Coming to the build, I’m planning an mATX build around the RX 9060XT with the below parts. Is there anything I can do better? I really wanted to keep this under 1L but I felt like that would require cutting too many corners and buying less quality components so I settled on sacrificing some money to get quality components that should hopefully last me a few years.

Also, I’m feeling a bit confused on the motherboard. I thought going the B650 route would be cheaper and I might find better quality motherboards that would’ve dropped in price but I don’t find much of a difference in pricing between B650 and B850 right now. From what I read, the Gigabyte B850M seems like an okay board (not as amazing as the ATX version). Is there a better board I’m missing out that is around the same price or less?

And lastly, if anyone has lately tried Nehru Place in Delhi, could you tell me your experience? Would it be better to just buy everything online or go local?

Thanks for your help guys!

Above config is good and for the NVME SSD you can go with https://computechstore.in/product/western-digital-wd-black-sn7100-1tb/

Because every 1TB of every brand is 9.5k nowadays and nowhere 1TB is coming for 6k

You should have bought the Desktop in October or September.

Thanks for the NVME suggestion, this one looks decent
I was also thinking of maybe getting one from this forum, I think I saw a thread for used Samsung NVMEs and that option felt decent too

To be honest, my initial plan wasn’t to build this year. Its just that because of all this sudden price increase and fear of GPU prices going up, I’m thinking of biting the bullet and get it over with before the year ends. Because if the prices went up even further than this, the whole thing will go really out of budget for me :smiling_face_with_tear:

If you want to save a bit more you could go with 7500f 14k and MSI b650m gaming wifi for 9.5k. For cpu cooler even ag400 will do for 1.6k. For case Fans get them from Elitehubs they are 2.7k there.

Thanks man, those are good suggestions! For the CPU, tbh I don’t like the idea of paying a 4k premium over the 7500f but I feel it might be worth it to buy a CPU with an iGPU just in case something goes wrong with my main one and I have something to fall back on for a while.

I’ll take a look at the MSI board and see if there are some decent reviews. The case fans from elitehubs is a nice deal compared to amazon, thanks!

Yeah I agree the iGPU does come in handy if something happens to your main gpu.

CPU cooler - AG400 will suffice or get AG620/CM620S, if it fits w/o issues. Dual tower dual fan is better than dual fan single tower cooler.

Mobo - Asus B650M AYW is a decent cheaper option but that B850M is a decent mATX mobo as well

SSD - Maybe buy 2TB open box SSD for 10-11k from sellers here:

He has SN740 for 10.5k, decent enough price considering how SSD prices are rising (it has slightly lower endurance than SN770 but will be more than enough for gaming)

I doubt you need 5 P12s, maybe get 3 cheaper fans, anyways your call.

RAM prices are crazy right now.

These are some good ideas for reducing the price a bit, thanks!

I looked at the AG620 too but dropped the idea after some reviews mentioned that it made high pitched whiny noises under full loads. The cooler master option looks really nice though, I’ll take a look at it!

And for the motherboard, I had never heard of this specific Asus board before but its a about 5k cheaper than the Gigabyte option which is nice. I’ll go through some reviews for it.

Yeah, maybe 5 is a bit overkill for these parts
I saw some people building inside the AP201 without any additional fans apart from the one that comes included since its a full mesh case. It might be a good idea to use it like that for a couple days, notice the temps and maybe I can even postpone the additional fans to the summer months :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

  1. I have AG620, i dont really notice anything like this and i do run it at multithreaded 100% load sometimes ( with fan at 100% at those temps), but its possible i am not sensitive to it.

  2. 620S - I think it has lower ram clearance. Make sure that your ram fits. Mine did not and hence i went with AG620. It was 1k or so cheaper back then. Worst case anyway you can maybe fix the 2nd fan above the ram and not cover the lower part of the heatsink.

Do note that B850 has Gen5 GPU slot, so vs AYW B650M, you are paying extra for that, slightly better VRM & GPU release button. Decide if these are worth 5k for you.

Do grab SSD soon IMO.

Hey, thanks for sharing your experience with the AG620 and maybe I’m just being paranoid for no reason. Since its a full mesh case which might make it a bit more audible than usual, I just wanted to be extra sure to rule out as much noise from my side
