Advice for Gaming PC Build under 70k

Hey fellas,

I am posting this thread here on behalf of my friend.

I need advice and recommendations for setting up a new PC. I’m looking for a futuristic upgrade that can handle games at decent FPS for the next 5 years.

What I’m trying to find:

Budget below 70K

  1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run? (Be exact. Which games? Which applications? Avoid the word ‘et cetera.’ Vague answers like ‘gaming’ or ‘office work’ will not work.)

Ans: ONLY games such as RDR2, Battlefield 5 and 6 (upcoming)

  1. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then please mention.

Ans: Budget below 70K

  1. Planning to overclock?

Ans: You tell me

  1. Which Operating System are you planning to use?

Ans: Windows 11

  1. How much hard drive/solid-state drive space is needed?

Ans: 1TB or above

  1. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention the screen size and resolution you prefer. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, then do mention the screen size and resolution of the monitor you have.

Ans: Already got one

  1. Which components you DON’T want to buy? i.e. which components you already have and plan on reusing?

Ans: Monitor

  1. When are you planning to buy the system?

Ans: Within week

  1. Have you ever built a desktop before? Or, will this be done by an assembler?

Ans: Atma-nirbhar Bharat

  1. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don’t get locally?

Ans: NCR

  1. Anything else which you would like to say?

Ans: Open to both AMD & Nvidia GPU and used parts if a good deal can be found on parts.

Your best bet at this budget is to pick up a used system with a 3080/6800xt/4070 + 7600/5800x3d or similar. 70k doesn’t really get you far with brand new parts

If extending the budget and going for new parts you can get a new ryzen 7500f for around 14k and save money for other parts. Other things as per suggestion by other members.

Thanks for the suggestions guys but the budget can’t be extended. How about mixing old and new parts. I suppose finding an used Gpu would be easier than cpu+mobo.

I have bought several used GPUs over the last year from facebook mktplace. RX 6800 for 25, RX 6700 for 15k etc. etc. If you have the intuition to spot good gpus by looking at the temps, clocks etc, then its a great option. F2F inspection is a must.

Increase your budget by 10k & buy a new i5 12400F/R5 5600 + 9060XT 16GB based rig, postpone purchase & save money.

Look for CPU, RAM & SSD deals on amazon. I remember that 1TB SN7100 was 5.6k in last sale. An i5 12400F has been on sale for as low as 8k or so. Can pair i5 12400F with H610 mobo to save cost, as H610 supports PCIe 4.0 in GPU slot. RAM prices have gone up a lot in last few months sadly, affected both DDR4 & DDR5.

9060XT 16GB should be the minimum GPU you should target if you plan to game for years to come as its performance is similar to PS5 pro & is not limited by 8GB VRAM (base PS5 sort of has 10GB VRAM, so situation of 8GB VRAM will get worse).

The used GPU option can be 3060Ti or 3070 for 16-17k.
