Advice: Switch Between PC & DJ Controller to MR4 Speakers

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for some advice on the cleanest and most practical way to route my audio setup.

Current Gear:

  • DJ Controller: Hercules Inpulse 300 MK2 (RCA Master Out)

  • PC: Can output audio via USB (A/C) or 3.5mm AUX

  • Speakers: Edifier MR4 (Active monitors, preferably using RCA input)

What I Want To Do:

  • Connect both my PC and my DJ controller

  • Be able to switch between them (no need to mix simultaneously)

  • Output to the Edifier MR4 via RCA

  • Preserve audio quality as much as possible

  • Budget: Under ₹10,000

  • Note: My DJ controller is connected to my laptop, and all laptop audio is routed through the controller. My PC is a separate source.

What I’m Considering:

  • A simple RCA switcher

  • A small line mixer

  • A USB audio interface with line inputs

  • Something like a small desktop preamp / monitor controller

I don’t need power amplification since the MR4 are active speakers.

Main goal:
Clean signal path + easy switching + minimal noise + good audio quality.

What would be the most sensible device type for this setup?
Would a passive switcher be enough, or should I look at a small mixer/interface?

Appreciate any recommendations :raising_hands:

A simple RCA switch. This should do.
