Hi everyone,
I’m looking for some advice on the cleanest and most practical way to route my audio setup.
Current Gear:
-
DJ Controller: Hercules Inpulse 300 MK2 (RCA Master Out)
-
PC: Can output audio via USB (A/C) or 3.5mm AUX
-
Speakers: Edifier MR4 (Active monitors, preferably using RCA input)
What I Want To Do:
-
Connect both my PC and my DJ controller
-
Be able to switch between them (no need to mix simultaneously)
-
Output to the Edifier MR4 via RCA
-
Preserve audio quality as much as possible
-
Budget: Under ₹10,000
-
Note: My DJ controller is connected to my laptop, and all laptop audio is routed through the controller. My PC is a separate source.
What I’m Considering:
-
A simple RCA switcher
-
A small line mixer
-
A USB audio interface with line inputs
-
Something like a small desktop preamp / monitor controller
I don’t need power amplification since the MR4 are active speakers.
Main goal:
Clean signal path + easy switching + minimal noise + good audio quality.
What would be the most sensible device type for this setup?
Would a passive switcher be enough, or should I look at a small mixer/interface?
Appreciate any recommendations ![]()
