AMD May Skip DDR2 Support

Head over to:

I always suspected that DDR2 will go the RDRAM way-expensive,underperforming
ram for a select few Intel systems.
I hope people who buy DDR2 don’t end up like people who bought RDRAM back in 2002-with no cost effective memory upgrade available to them now. :face_with_tongue:

AMD had already announced processors supporting the DDR2 Ram

But i too thought that they might think directly of support for DDR3
as its really gr8.

Why release a processor for DDR2 when DDR3 is comming and the current AMD processors are working gr8 with DDR.

LOL moral of story stay away from any new technology introduced by Intel. Cant just help but they initiated the meaningless change from AGP to PCIE, 2 yrs down the line when the 8x bandwith would be a bottleneck it would have been a good idea.

I will agree with u
