We’re launching a new experiment today aimed at making learning and discussing tech a fun, daily habit. It’s called the TechEnclave Daily Quiz.
The Idea: Fun, “Micro” Learning
The goal isn’t to run a marathon. We’re focusing on bite-sized learning that you can do in just a few minutes.
Here’s how it works:
Every Day: A new, short quiz will go live.
Stay Sharp: It’s a simple way to test your knowledge on a new topic each day.
Compete: Your scores will be added to a weekly and all-time leaderboard.
The Real Goal: Discussion
A quiz is fun, but the real value is in the discussion that follows. To help with this, every new quiz will automatically get its own discussion topic.
This is your space to:
Debate the “hard” questions.
Discuss the answers and explanations.
Share related facts or links you find interesting.
This is an Experiment
We’re treating this as a new feature that will evolve. We know it won’t be perfect from day one, and we’ll be refining it based on your experience.
Your feedback is essential. Please let us know what you think. What do you like? What’s annoying? What features would make it better?
This was fun, thanks for putting this together. I’m eager for tomorrow’s quiz now lol
Edit: I wonder if we can make it even more competitive by tracking how long a user took to take the quiz. It’ll make the leaderboard look a bit more differentiated.
If there are 22 questions each day, note the time a user started the quiz, note the time they submitted their last answer, subtract the difference between the times from 22, and multiply their score by this number.
I’m not a fan of the ones where you can easily eliminate options and get to the answer because the alternatives are just silly.
I like the domains covered as of now. Structure seems fine as well.
More than enough for me, as it drags on a bit by the end. Any more and it’ll feel like a chore.
There’s a lack of visibility into the quiz as of now. Maybe a sticky banner, highlighted option in the sidebar, or a stickied post on the home page might help.
It would be nice if you could look into any incentives for continued participation, because I think the momentum might slow down after a while. Initial thoughts are something with cosmetic utility, like Discord Nitro/Steam avatar frames/backgrounds. Maybe badges/titles, but I personally don’t see them as an incentive with the current implementation.
Random Ideas
Allowing users to create and post their own quizzes, and this (quizzes as a whole) could even have a category of its own. Creating custom topic-centric quizzes sounds like fun to me.
Having multiple quizzes for different categories, and allowing users to do the one they’d like. This would also have separate topic-wise leaderboards.
Versus mode, allowing you to play against any online member with a random AI-generated quiz. Similar to the good ol’ quizup days. But this might be difficult due to the low number of players and matchmaking issues, not to mention the immense technicalities involved.
