Nothing dies from not getting enough juice. Things do die if you feed dirty power. ( Cheap PSUs with lots of noise / ripple voltage ). That can cause some components of the cards to heat up. Many people with X19k series must have gone through this. Their PWM temp used to go through roof if operated with cheapo PSUs with dirty power output.

This is not the case here so there is no real risk.

Aite thanks Funky, will try it out…just wait for the numbers of the 4870, and then decide, whether its really worth it.
