Why don’t you link it then?

140W is just little more future proof right? In my case, I intend to use mostly only one device (laptop) at a time. Only in certain cases will I use an additional phone or so. I will never charge 2 laptops simultaneously.
So I guess I don’t really need the 140W right?
The 65W is expected to be available for ₹1500 during sale I guess?
A 140W charger will heat up less than a 65W one. Oversizing means you have future headroom.
From what I could gather the problem is…
Fast charge two iPhones at the same time
Can charge one iphone but not at fast speed
Fast charge macbook or presumably any other usbc laptop
Seller was Supercom Net and price paid was right. This is no fake
But it does give pause…if this is how the 100W performs then what can you expect from their 140W variant?
The USB-PD standard goes from 65W to 100W to 140W to 180W to 240W.
You will find that most lightweight laptops support up to 65W and ones with discrete GPU support 100W because it gets expensive to add the higher wattage ports.
Some expensive gaming laptops will go to 240W but generally it is useless to spend more on much higher wattage. Also nearly all these multiport chargers struggle with providing the correct wattage when using multiple ports, so I would only use one port with a laptop.
Precisely the reason I don’t get the shilling for CMF chargers. They are just rebadging OEM products from one of the local Shenzen manufacturers. It is pretty much what any company does now, though it is being sold for quite a bit more.
You are now scaring me here. I am losing confidence in CMF if this issue persists. The guy in video is using 100W charger so may be even 65W is also plagued by the same issue?
My max usage is… Dell Laptop (which accepts 65W) + iPhone 13 (not always). I understand that as soon as I connect iPhone, the wattage on the laptop side may drop to 45W which is still ok (since it is better than the 30W I am using in Apple charger).
Are there any other more reliable brands out there or if I choose more reliable, I will end up in the “expensive than usual” category?
Any good choices (that are more pricey in India but may be less in US) on desertcart website so I can consider using help of member who has pro membership and possibly I get some coupon too.
From my experience, Anker and Ugreen, who have been managing their own production for decades, are generally of good quality. Both have Indian partners now. They are pricey but also sell on Amazon, so maybe there is a chance it will be cheaper during the sale.
Common reason for going for other brands is because they are cheaper for the same specs on paper. Personally, I am guilty of doing so because I don’t hang on to the chargers for too long and they do the job.
I recently got the Spigen 65W charger. I used this to charge my mac and s23u. I do not charge both at the same time. It is doing great job and I haven’t faced any issues so far .
I can recommend if you would like to go for one. It costed me 2k.
The only reason I guess people are not very confident on spigen is that it isn’t a charger company primarily so have doubts about it. That does not mean it is bad, just that people seem to be cautious.
Do try 2 devices together and I am not sure what mac you have but mine is Air M1 and it came with a 30W charger so I guess Mac’s are ok with 30W but a pro mac may need more I guess.
I have mac m1 pro, it charges at 65W. There are no problems with it.
It will charge at 45W and 20W respectively if I charge two devices from the type c ports
I have been using both Spigen and Ugreen for 2 years now almost. I found Spigen one to be better. It is reliable and delivers power as expected. Whereas I found Ugreen one sometimes stopped working and would automatically resume later, it remains a mystery to me. Not a terribly bad thing, but it is absurd.
Spigen one has been a no hassle charger for me.
There was an interesting comment by some one claiming to be a system designer.
He said can’t do more than one protocol at a time. So cant mix PD with something else. But why then was there a problem with the two iphones? They both use the same charging protocol or do they?
The IC used can’t handle the load. So that’s why the lady at the service centre said can only charge one device at a time.
Which is a joke for a multi port charger
Good to hear that spigen is working well. I see it is 2099 now and lowest ever was 1799. Is that the lowest you have seen as well?
I had the 3 port version of this (65W), 4 months after buying it, the middle port started behaving a lil wierd, it worked sometimes, sometimes not. I visited the service center since it was still under warranty but they denied my claim, claiming I bought it from an unknown seller, mind you i got it from flipkart, the listing had tens of thousands of reviews. I had to escalate it a lot and got it replaced after a month, pretty crappy after sales but its been almost an year now and the adapter seems to work fine.
Got this for office - Amazon.in
Working fine.
Again, people just recommend Spigen because they recognise the brand from its cases. However, generally the quality of chargers is poor and they again overprice the product for what it is.
This is one detailed review but you will find generally that their product quality is not good when looked in detail.
Nearly every charger works out if the box and for regular use cases. As I said, I am using my McDodo ones for a couple of years now and the 65W Nu Republic one I picked up for fun, supplies the stated power while costing 1.2k.
Rather than the protocol, all the chargers struggle with switching power management over multiple ports. It is the reason why they reconnect every time you connect a new device. It is also the reason why sometimes some ports just start connecting and disconnecting frequently.
Personally I always faced this with Basel’s chargers, they are the worst of the lot in terms of GaN chargers. Ugreen too faces the issue with some of their products. Anker is more solid.
Have anyone used the anker gan charger?
