Why no coverage on any of the new apple stuff so far?? None of the new youtubers seem to be covering the announcements.
It is my first ever MacBook and I realize why this company always wins when it comes to quality of their products and customer experience.
I was blown away by the speaker on this razor thin MacBook Air. Superb sound output and plenty loud without being distorted.

Isn’t this cannibalizing the iPad ? Yes, the OS is different but the low end use cases would overlap.
The only thing keeping the iPad relevant is its large touch screen.
I used to think apple will never give touch screen in macbook.

They definitely learnt from their mistake of making a killer price-performance product. Now it seems they just get more expensive every generation without any significant improvements.
A touchscreen laptop is better if it’s 360 foldable or comes with a detachable screen. Otherwise it’s not as portable as a tab.
In any case, as a student or even for media/browsing/reading, the iPad is the better option. I am not sure where they are positioning this unless they are getting rid of the iPad and iPadOS altogether.

Wait till you hear speakers on pro or even 15 inch air. Speakers are just great. 13 inch ones are also good for laptop.
I am waiting for oled ones with touch screen and other things to upgrade. But I don’t prefer glossy screens. Lets see.

Don’t know your definition of great but they are nowhere great even compared to my TV which had better speakers than this but still crap even compared to 5k normal speakers … speakers on all laptops are crap.. This maybe 10% less crap.. But please don’t wait to hear it.. You would have heard creative or edifier speakers earlier.. Even they are better and they don’t even fl in bracket of good forget great
Of course they’re great for a laptop.
Have you even listened to an M-series MacBook Pro? It got like 6 speakers, loud sound and a good base.
A TV has a much bigger frame to fit larger, better speakers.
Don’t compare apples to oranges.
Then don’t overhype perfectly ordinary things by calling it great and asking a user to wait to hear it.. Setting completely false expectations
And yes i have heard them in my office for people who have opted for apple device… as I said maybe it’s 10% less crap.. I still just ask my team to connect to the hdmi tv or av unit instead of using the speaker on the apple laptop as it’s crap even compared to the crap speakers of the TV.. Av speakers are day and night better than the laptop speakers so don’t know the right word there
Ofcourse physics is physics… which is why there is no point in just overstating a perfectly ordinary set of speakers.. Quantity of crap speakers just adds more noise it doesn’t improve the quality
Worst thing about the neo is the non-haptic touchpad. Other than that, seems like a solid laptop.

I feel the trackpad, no touch ID, not backlit keyboard, is meant specifically to keep existing Macbook Air customers from cheaping out. They are trying to cater to a set of new customers.
idk why no one else seems to mind it, but to pay 70k on a laptop to not even get a backlit keyboard, seems like a pretty big miss to me. Everything else, I could understand and make peace with, but this is quite a functional feature, and I can’t remember the last time I’d used a non-backlit keyboard.
Given that the baseline price for MBA has been around the $999 mark for a very long time now, This one seems to represent great value at $599
Sadly the INR freefall makes that 599 translate to 70K now which makes it pricey here
It will be around 60 to 62k, on flipkart.

No longer. This year they have gone for USD * 110 (rounded to 10K, sometimes up and sometime down) for the pricing of macbook.
This system will be a great portable, on-the-go system, once it hits the 45K mark (with discounts).
With the Neo’s release, I guess the iPad Air (even with M4) is basically DOA.
DOA AT THIS PRICES . 8GB RAM in laptop. well its just a mobile with a big screen now i guess to get more money from gullible apple fans.

Idk man I’ll be honest, I see it like a win personally.. I didn’t like the haptic one on the latest macbook pros, and I liked the old clicky trackpad on my old macbook pro much more..
