Are you going to cinemas to watch movies?

I went to watch a movie tonight after a while (screening of Sholay of all the movies). Loved the movie of course but the experience leaves so much to be desired. One, there were people with small kids running around throughout the movie. I have a small child soni can still understand that but not a great movie experience for rest of the people. Second, they showed like non stop product ads for 20 minutes during intermission. That was too much to take after making so much efforts in life to avoid ads.

That made me question my choice of going to cinemas ever and wonder why people still go to movies. Wonder how people in this forum are doing. Are you still watching movies in cinemas or is it just plex/otts for you. If anyone sees value in theatres, would love to hear their views. For me. Just the big screen is not worth the hassle, money and sitting through the ads anymore.

These days adults are more annoying tha children. I avoid going to cinemas and watched only 1 movie on ott recently that too i skipped it.
I removed all ott subs or the thing which i still have dont use them.
Theatres are a no go for me.

After how long ?

This happens in some movies.. mostly in case theater is not full. (but parents should keep a watch here)
Some times parents bring along infants and they start crying.

What do you expect they should do in intermission ?

Yes (once/twice in 6 months), completely depends upon the movie, there are few movies we planned only to watch in cinema, getting released next year. (there will be more visits next year)
OTT and downloads nowadays for good movies, along with family on weekends (more fun)

Can’t quote on phone.

Went after about a year.

For what they should do in intermission, I don’t know. What I know is that I hated that intermission. I should have known this though and guess it was my bad for forgetting and go so hopefully I remember it next time. It felt worse because no ads for any new releases either. Just shitty shampoo, jewellery and stuff.

Yeah. Feels like it’s going to be plex on tv for me from now on (at least for a while). I should work on a better sound system though.

That sounds really annoying. I love the idea of watching films in theaters, but I hardly do that anymore. Mostly it’s just streaming. There’s so much good material we humans have made - in a way it’s a huge backlog to get through that I’d prefer to pick something out of instead of going in blind and risking disappointment. So I don’t go to theaters unless I already know that the film’s real good, and also I go only if it’s a good theater / as a social activity with friends.

Yeah, true that. Chances of new movie even being somewhat ok to watch are slim (specially bollywood, also no offense to anyone, just how I feel  ). Watching classics or even older known good movies is so much better experience with much better chances of a good watch.

I go to the cinema once a month with my family, especially if there are some good movies. When family from abroad visits, it may be twice a month since it counts as a shared event.

Last movie I have seen was Kalamkaval with English sub.

It was pretty average tbh. Many murders but it was lacking gore.

The movie was a bold one, but I was totally creeped out by the betrayals of one of the leads, despite the plot hand-waving it off as a psychotic fixation.

District by Zomato has a christmas offer for their District Pass, 99rs for 3 months

Heck, the 250rs x2 food vouchers arent having any minimum price cap too lol.

Ha, I got like a voucher for 300rs after booking zootopia 2 tickets back in November
At the same time the taco bell at forum mall was running a 50% discount offer if you pay through district. You combine everything and this is what I got
