Battery health is at 90%, it’s hardly an year old MB. Before 26.0.1 I used to charge once every 2 days, my usage pattern did not change at all and now i have to charge over twice a day. Getting less than 4 hours SoT.
Also noticed my mac gets much hotter, louder since the update. Anyone else facing this find a fix?

You can take backup and re-install it or wait for apple to fix it. Also, do not rush into new updates with apple when you have older device. I have made the same mistakes in the past like these. I generally wait for atleast 1-2 major cycle of updates The point ones and then jump into it.

Company laptop, cant reinstall. Some folks were able to resolve this with 26.1 but that’s beta release and I can’t risk it
Ask your company to replace it. Do not install beta.
Technically you can bypass the office’s MDM profile if there is any and can format but would brick if there is no auto-provisioning.
I did bypass the mdm and used it like that until few months ago when rippling (management tool) sne an email saying two of the users (me and the ceo) aren’t using their mdm tools on laptop. And then i had to set it up so that’s out if the question.
Replacement unit is possible but setting up everything and backup restores isn’t worth it.
