I think a drives real power is explored when a 8.5gb dvd is written.Sowhich one is really reliable in such conditions? Well i am not sure & i think no buddy is!

go for LG the quitest drive that will last longer then others most reliable.if u r participating in CD burning contest go for samsung

i already got the Pioneer 112D so no use saying buy LG :face_with_tongue:

i already have a LG H10N thus i wanted something else & i could not get myself to trust Lite-On & Samsung

new query:

Pioneer DVR-116DBK or LG GH22NP20 or LG GH22LP20 or LITE-ON iHAP422-08 or LITE-ON DH-20A4H-06

Need: IDE, Excellent Burn Quality with Taiyo Yuden 8X Discs/Verbatim 16X Disks & lots of reading of media on various disc types

Optional Need: Disc Quality Scanning with CD-Speed

Info: Have a Pioneer DVR-112DBK as a Primary DVDRW Drive which is 1yr old & want to replace my Secondary DVDRW Drive which is a LG H10N which is 2.5yrs old

Things to avoid: Any brand except Pioneer, LG or LITE-ON, Blu-Ray Drives & SATA

Budget: 2k

bump

it’s urgent guys

I too want the same and with lightscribe too. :face_with_tongue:

I am going to take my chances with an LG drive again maybe.
But LG drives don’t offer quality scanning iirc. :frowning:
The Samsung SH-S223-F i got recently was too noisy when spinning.
(or maybe it was just with me but whatever. :face_with_tongue: )

I bought Asus IDE 3 months before. It can pick up most scratched cd,s and dvd but really not good as my old LG 5yrs in good running condition

Go for LG…

Get Plextor!

my vote goes for the pioneer 116 drive.

i too need help in purchasing an IDE DVD Writer …can some1 suggest me the best ones…it should burn 8.5gb at 4x flawlessly..!!!

pioneers are the best for dual layers. i dont know about the availability locally.

Pioneer DVR-116DBK or LG GH22NP20?

Dude, got LG DVDRW last week IDE walla.. it rocks. i dont think it will ever have tray problems like SONY,LITEON and SAMSUNG has.. LG has the strongest motor (the force applied for tray to come out is strong and so tray goes inside with a force)

So LG is in IMHO..

dont know about pioneer as never used it.

sorry dude that was funny

^^ whats so funny  the way of description?

U mean Newton’s 3rd law?

Frack!!

^^ No. He said THE force. Obi von kenobi will be VERY proud- except its used for silly things.
