I never said that warning people was wrong, just the way that this was handled was incorrect as the appropriate mods should have been contacted first. It is not @cdspl2’s place to force the issue and not offer the proper respect to the mods of this forum that handle the Market section and let them decide for themselves… especially since @cdspl2 has only made 1 post and does not IMO have the credibility to make this sort of accusation… we are not all privy to the other forum.
This is my opinion only, I just think it is wrong to punish someone here for something they did somewhere else. That doesn’t mean that they shouldn’t be warned or watched carefully, IMHO everyone deserves a chance to prove themselves or have a 2nd chance… (maybe with a watchful eye)

After some thought I do agree that perhaps some action should be taken to avoid a similar situation at TE. This decision isn’t anyone’s to make except the appropriate mods and I firmly believe this was handled in a very inappropriate and disrespectful manner.
^^ But TE is not the 2nd chance. I mean where the damage is done there the person should get second chance. Instead giving a chance on TE means it is the first here and when someone gets conned in similar way and still no restrictions are put on the member then it will second chance.

As for the member in question, he has got a thread against him. Which in itself is a lot. PP simply said that just because someone comes along and claims that he got cheated in another forum we will not start banning members.
Anyway, we will look into it and will follow our own course of action for handling such issues.

Within a specific timelimit everything comes as 1week old on E, issue is almost a month old as stated before…He has simply stopped responding to PM’s by OP and Market Mods on E…

I understand your point and agree partially, but I respectfully disagree to some part of it too.
I don’t think there are any rules here for governing members giving feedback against other members. Of course any TE market dispute has to go through the mods first, but this is not a market dispute here. This is general feedback against a member based on something that happened elsewhere (and probably this thread should have been in the General feedback section or even the General section, not in the market feedback section).
The OP is not expecting that the mods will ban the member in question or anything, he is simply warning the people (the entire TE community and not just the mods) about dealing with that guy. If this is an open forum, then he has every right to do it (considering he has the proof for anyone to see and decide for themselves) even if he has only one post.
Just to put it in perspective, if a member has a bad experience with a hardware dealer outside TE and that dealer happens to be a member of TE, does the member really have to consult the mods before starting a feedback thread about him? I think not. Maybe that kind of thread should not be in the market feedback section, but it can be elsewhere.
So what the OP has done is not inappropriate. He did not post his proof, but I guess posting E rodov links would have been pointless since I believe that they are censored here.
About taking action, its up to the mods to take whatever precautionary action they deem necessary, no ones denying that. If they do not deem any action necessary, its their decision to make and at least I am not going to question that.
But in my personal opinion, its better to be safe than sorry later especially considering that TE does not take any responsibility for deals that take place here. So If I know that a member has bad history elsewhere , then I will definitely stay away from him. I will not wait for him to con someone here.

@LN: until thebanik posted, I wasn’t willing to believe the TS. I still need to see some proof before I completely believe it. It is very easy for someone to level slander against anyone else - we need proper evidence to support any accusation. We are treating this the same way that the Indian legal system does, “Guilty till proved innocent”. That, IMO, is the worst way to look at any kind of accusation like this. Not saying thta it may not be true, but that we need to know for sure.
Remember that we are a community, not just a bulletin board. I appreciate the warning message, but when it comes from someone with zero contribution, it basically has zero credibility. I could simply go on to another forum and start flinging allegations at people I don’t get along with (to give a very wild example) on this one. I need to know that this is not some sort of cooked-up vengeance plot.
I see the TS has stayed away so far from replying. I don’t expect a reply immediately, but I want to see that proof (links/PMs or even some specific details about the deal). I hope Xonar comes on this thread and proves his innocence, his honorable intentions, even his attempts at fixing whatever went wrong (if it went wrong) or clarifying his stand to clear his name.
In the case of such a serious allegation about a community member, we (at least the mods) need to look at that evidence, even if it is on another forum.

But before that I would like to tell abt myself: I just joined TE on 2006 for getting the invitation to participate in torrent sites (“The torrent invitation thread”). But I’m not able to get any invitations. So, I just forgot the site. After some time (READ: YEARS!), I was searching for the soundmagic headphones for my music player. So, I engaged myself here again. I can’t take part actively in the forum due to my studies.
Regarding my experience in cheating: I made an ad for selling iPod nano in the thinkdigit forum. (you people might know it, for sure). I was known as venkat_chitra there.
