Clean up - old hdds, cables etc - Part 1

All hard disks come either from external drive enclosures or laptops. Don’t recall what comes from where. Shipping extra on all items. Prices are completely random so they don’t look sensible for any of these, open to suggestions.

1. Seagate 1tb 2.5inch : shows 36% health in HD sentinel. I didn’t face any issues when I was using it though. Make of it what you will: 1000/-

2. Samsung 1tb 2.5inch drive – 100% health: 2000/-

3. 500gb Seagate 2.5 inch drive – 100% health – 1000/-

4. 1tb WD external drive – 100% health. Tried shucking in past but think pcb is soldered. : 2500/-

5. external drive case/hdd adapter – have these salvaged from old external hard disks I think. free with hdds.

Smart data and health:

@prabs your were looking for a drive

Sent you PM, please check

In your 3rd pic the cursor popup is hiding value of load unload cycle count which might be relevant to some.

I’m sure they will ask for it, if they care :). Also its not hidden so read more carefully maybe?

This is the absolutely pointless passive aggressive drama that I yearn for in my life.

I’m all like, “dang did he just say that to him?” while sipping my hibiscus tea.

Just giving a heads up. Also, the last 3 figures (after 8F) are indeed hidden/obscured by that cursor popup.

didnt mean anything bad TBH man. It just came out weirdly I suppose. also is the load /unload cycle not 42 , which is clearly visible? or do you think the data has a different value (dont know how to read it).

Anyways, dont think its a big deal or malicious. If anyone is interested specifically in that, they can DM I suppose.

No problem. The S.M.A.R.T. values table show 4 columns out of which three are kind of “avg/weighted scores” based on raw values column. It is kind of like if raw value in an exam is 85 then score is B+ etc. “Current column” show current score, “Worst column” show worst score since beginning & “Threshold column” show threshold score aka min score needed to pass. 42 is current score as well as worst score since beginning but threshold score is 0 meaning even if its value drops to zero it still won’t fail in SMART test. Threshold values by default are shown in hexadecimal number system so need to be converted to decimal number system aka typical number system people use. Just open calculator app in windows & from menu change it to programmer mode then click on hexa & start entering the raw value shown & calculator will simultaneously show the converted value in decimal number system. In crystaldiskinfo there is an option to show raw values in decimal number system itself.

interested in 500gb, where are you location?

all remaining stuff sold to @tushgaurav

It is relevant and is pretty high. Above the spec in fact. The most significant nibbles gave me enough information.

Since someone asked in DM if there is a part 2; while cleaning up my pc closet, I found few items I don’t need but too lazy to post them atm. In summary they are (i think, will have to check and confirm exact details):

  1. Few cables (hdmi, dp): all high quality, 1-1.5m i think. I have moved my pcs to separate closet so using longer cables where I need and have no use for these.
  2. an HBA (9207-8i) with 2x8087 to 4xsata breakout and 1 8087 to 4xsas breakout cables. Have this one as spare as moves my systems to 93xx cards. This I can keep for any future projects but will let it go for eBay prices if someone needs.
  3. Few sata cables: 10+. Various sources. Don’t have use but too much hassle to list.
  4. 1 50m ethernet cat6 cable : ordered to install in my house but the guy installing refused to use it (think they had margins on their own cables. I didn’t mind as needed him to install so let him use his cables). Have left with me unused at the moment.
  5. 1 10m ethernet cable: bought it few years back. Used for a bit but replaced with better solution.

In case of any interest, dm or can create a listing. Lemme know.

@napsterlabs if you are still looking for it.

Thanks for the mention. I ordered from Ebay and got 4x quantity for about ₹400/cable (8087 to 4xSATA each) so I’m good for now
