I dont have much context on Indian payment processors but Razorpay is basically a clone of Stripe and if its anything like Stripe, it wont just take 1-2 days of escrow payments and typically Payment Processors dont release funds so early, they’ll basically start refunding every customer if the even sniff a hint of any fraud and you can do crap about it
I thought of that but the problem is it won’t scale. If you are a small business you can have payments from numerous sources coming daily.
It only takes one bogus payment to get your account blocked
I’m not sure if this helps but I got 4 accounts and only 1 I use for Gpay and every online petty payments (under 10k) like FB/forums etc.
I only load the amount I wish to spend/transfer and then the balance foes back to zero!
Thus, I save my other major accounts.
It is not. Indian payment gateways typically settle within 24-48 hours as that is I think even the guidelines by RBI suggest. Also, refund is not as simple & customer centric here as it is abroad/US.
You are not saving anything. Sending money to random people via upi/gpay/neft/rtgs/imps is not an issue, receiving it is. You will receive money when you are selling stuff not when buying stuff.
Unethical (?) Life Pro Tip:
If you have spiralling credit card debt like I do, and your monthly finance charges completely decimate the minimum amount due each month, then make a payment with tainted funds.
The card will get blocked, yes, but new finance charges won’t be added each month because the bank has blocked your card. Continue making the minimum payments to pay off the remaining amount.
Of course, I didn’t know this beforehand. But yeah, the reason why I’m not very upset by these blocks is that it’s actually saving me money, in a very odd way.
So far, the amount due has been going down by the exact amount I’ve paid for two months now. I still get monthly bills, and all they have is a single line item of the payment I made.

And to nicely play with your CIBIL..
Good idea.. a separate and zero balance account with atm. Cashout as soon as getting the money hahaha
Don’t you think you’ll be traced by the KYC documents used for opening that account.
I hope not so
DATE : 23rd July 2025
→ Submitted docs for KYC at SBI on Monday
→ Got KYC Update notification on phone on Tuesday
→ Made a payment via DC on amazon, worked out
I’ve got my account unfrozen ![]()
Dad advised not to cash out of the account and continue using it.
Should work fine in the future, as now this acc is GST linked and only registered sales and purchases to be made on this acc now.
Also, the fraud money, Rs 14100, is already on hold.
I would not recommend using this account.
Also:
You can link upto 10 accounts, and they don’t even have to be business accounts, personal accounts work too.
You got lucky as your acc freeze was done under the less stringent section where lien is placed only on amt in dispute. If it was the more stringent section then it wouldn’t be this easy (yes what you experienced is considered very easy solution for such cases).
Linking acc to GST is no guarantee, if you receive payment from any acc in future which get involved in a chain freeze then your acc will get freeze too. Your only option is to receive payments from accs which you know for sure they never got involved with p2p crypto or selling of stuff especially gift vouchers to random strangers on forums/reddit without an established/long term reputation/history. I still suggest you to get a payment gateway service from razorpay (link it to a preferably newly opened current acc in another bank) & use that for receiving payments from buyers. You will have to pay commission charges but that is worth it for extra safety a payment gateway provides.
