Is ddr4 that slow compared to ddr5? I’m trying to choose parts for my pc build and the prices of ddr5 is obviously out of this world so is it worth it to wait for ddr5 prices to fall or just buy ddr4 ram?
depend on purpose of your build? if its gaming u wouldnt notice different IMO , rest editing n rendering that field i have no knewledge.

Check Hardware Unboxed on YT for a clear understanding of the benefits if any with regards to the speeds and capacities across generations.
For certain workloads, like AI, DDR4 is noticeably slower.
If you’re building a new PC from scratch, choose DDR5. There’s little point in buying DDR4 RAM and locking yourself into an older processor platform.
Latency wise it’s marginal , but bandwith wise DDR5 is much better.
