*The Steam version of Crysis Warhead has the same activation limit as the retail version of 5 activations. The Steam version of Crysis Wars will only require authentication upon installation just like the retail product. *
Everyone who doesn’t find this DRM crap intrusive will maybe have no qualms in the future about having to undergo a complete physical via rectal probes each time you reinstall an old favourite game.
Specially a game like Crysis which I would definitely want to revisit when i have the hardware to run it at ultra high resolution and AA settings with 60fps.
^I suppose he didn’t phrase it properly but I guess what he meant was that this kind of protection would only make potential legit buyers shy away as well. Some of my friends who swear by legit game purchases are giving it a second thought to get this game due to this DRM limitation.
All you ppl for DRM, just wanna let u know that I’m not going to buy the game. Hassles/ limits for the ones paying? Sorry, EA, I prefer the pirates. Free and no hassles.
For general information, 99% of my games have been bought.
Thish is what jmccaskey from valve said in the steam forums..hopefully they will post DRM protections of games for futur game releases beforehand so that i and others who dont want DRM can stay away from it..
We intend to add activation limit information to the System Requirements section on the store for games with limits in the future.
I’d love to see games not have these limits, but we are not in a position to make that decision for publishers. Given the choice of letting users choose to buy a game with limits or not selling it at all we want to give you the choice. I’m sorry for the inconvenience that the confusion around the DRM on some recent games caused some of you, if you have additional concerns about DRM please feel free to contact support.
Edit:-
found this article on why securom is gonna stay here for some time..

Heh, did anyone notice the fact that EA withheld the information about DRM for 2 days after the release of the game? So now many gamers will have happily bought their copy of Warhead over the weekend and will be finding out about the bs restrictions right now.
