There is white privilege in India. I’ve seen Russians and Germans travelling alone, male/female both without any fear. Places I would not dare to go in India or abroad and I’m not a scared traveler at all. Living in Delhi for most of my life has given me and my family heightened awareness. We have become prevention is better than cure. This helps me everywhere in the world though.

I live in Delhi and I don’t consider it clean or safe. I’ve been assaulted for pointing fingers or even being the only one picking up my own stuff in public. I have almost been beaten up for calling ppl out for simple thing as skipping lines, no one comes in defense, peeps just gawk, baaki sab tho bahut badi baat hai. I don’t want to be beaten up in front of my family and who will I goto afterwards, the police. Po po here can do all the lathi charge they want, what protection do you have. There are PSA’s out now, urging public to pls help on the road if you see an accident, there will be no legal issues. I’m hit with sewage stench at multiple spots, everyday driving in my car. I’m not looking for shit. Goto old Delhi railway station, goto anand vihar bus depot, goto ISBT, goto yamuna, leave this just goto the entrance of Hauz Khas. I’ve seen the air around me go bad to worse to unlivable. Now we have a known stray dog menace. These are problems from the 80s/90s. Where do all the crores of rupees go. I repeat I live in the capital, it has a lot of funding, wonder what the smaller cities are like. Modi comes out with swach bharat, clean river drives, there has to be a reason for this. I’m not ignorant. This is my personal exp, day to day life, on the ground. You can say i’m only one person and not a stat. I have no hate just wish things were better.
India is not a poor nation at all, its a corrupt nation. There are many many other countries which are way worse but that’s not a comparison. The more ppl realize, we can try to bring change together.
After all said and done, I love India and CHOOSE to stay here.
