use something called as chntpw from Linux live CD.
XP password will be reset in no time.
Hiren boot disk is great.
Also you can try Austrumi boot disk.
Here is a simple solution if your usual account is other than Administrator (and inbuilt admin was hidden but activated). On the password login screen press ctrl del and alt. On the login screen type Administrator and log in. Go to control panel and reset the password of your usual account. restart.
