Full custom-built 5.1.2 Dolby Atmos/DTS:X home-theatre setup (components) with AVR

Hello everyone,

With quite some heavy heart I am having to put up my dear HTS setup components for sale due to renovation at home & the ‘home ministry’ not wanting the bulky speakers & heavy wiring anymore, so…I have moved to a ‘compact(er)’ surround sound soundbar setup now as a compromise (they didn’t want even that, just TV speakers sufficing for them; put I couldn’t & wouldn’t want that at all!). Anyway..

The speakers (except the ceiling ones) are the craftwork of a local renowned speaker-maker and are in fully functional condition with a few scuffs here-'n-there (and cone on one of the drivers of a floorstanders was partially ‘popped’ by a ‘little devil’, but it neither made any difference to SQ hence nor did i ‘unpop’ it), otherwise look aesthetically fine. They are powered by a Marantz NR1606 AVR with dolby Atmos/DTS:X decoding capabilities and has proved to be more than enough for all my uses in all these years! Sound very good & pleasing for music as well (the famed ‘Marantz SQ’), while plenty powerful & loud & thumpy to enjoy movies as it is with the wide soundstage of the floorstanders!! My L-shaped hall where they were placed is big (straight viewing-distance of ~14-15ft) and the system has been very, very room-fillingly adequate and powerful!!

The system comprises of (with dimensions):
- A pair of Floorstanders: 1200mm (H, incl. rubber feet) * 220mm (B) * 320mm (D) * Wt ‘Very Heavy’
- Center Speaker: 160mm (H) * 660mm (B) * 150mm (D) * Wt ‘Heavy’
- Pair of Rear/Side Bipolar Surround Speakers: 390mm (H) * 160/440mm (B) * 280mm (D) * Wt ‘Heavy’
- Subwoofer: 480mm (H, incl. legs) * 400mm (B) * 420mm (D) * Wt ‘Too Heavy’
- Ceiling Speakers: Yamaha HTiB HTR-3067 Bookshelves
and
- The AVR: https://www.marantz.com/en-au/product/archive-av-receivers/nr1606/NR1606.html

Am also attaching a sheet mentioning the tech-specs in some details of the speakers.

The buyer can have the subwoofer cable & the speaker-cables alongwith the banana plugs with the system at no additional cost (except probably the cables for the ceiling & bipolar speakers as they’re still rooted in their casing-capping on the walls & could be tough to be pulled out), the ceiling & side-wall mounts for the ceiling & bipolar speakers, plus whatever accessories for the system & the AVR I have.

Unfortunately due to the bulky build of the components, I may not be able to ship them out of the city-limits. And I’d much prefer selling the system as a whole to anyone interested & willing to buy everything together; will make for a really, really good ‘launching-pad’ for anyone to take-off their full-blown discrete channel surround-sound AV journey!! Can make a special offer for/of a better deal in that case.

Looking forward to a quick sale as further renovation is due in the house & these are taking quite some space; plus wouldn’t want them to get dirty during the work! Anybody local here who has been mulling on getting a discrete home theatre system, feel free to message me! Price is reasonably negotiable. Anyone interested in buying is welcome to check & test them.

Thanks for checking!

You could try posting on HiFiVision too, not sure about the state of that forum right now, but you might get some interest there.

For anyone on the fence, I can absolutely vouch for @Kilroyquasar . He is above everything a very good person, and one of the most reasonable humans I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with.

Can definitely vouch for him being a reasonable human being…he has compromised a full blown 5.1 Atmos for a soundbar

Shudder to think if he was down to tv speakers.

A good Marantz AVR. GLWS

One of my friend was interested in a HT setup . I actually bought the drivers for the speakers but due to time issues I am not yet done .

Can you share your location and a few more details on the brands ?

Sent PM .

thanks! that was the first place i had listed this on.

thank you so much for the really kind words dear bandhuvar! :folded_hands: the feeling’s mutual!

hehe. fortunately the soundbar i bought is top in its class (and even beyond) and comes close to a discrete setup. but unfortunately the ‘sword’ of sale may loom over that one too in coming some time (alongwith the tv may be)

Good to hear that you are still able to enjoy the sound. Could you share the soundbar you purchased either here or on pm.

opening the sale for shipping of the whole system as well as sale of individual components too now. transport via train would cost somewhere around 12~15k & by road upto 20k (both for a distance of upto 1000~1200 kms, but may depend on other factors too). in both the cases door-delivery will be done. in the case of train-freight i’ll have to get the packing done myself. pricing & packing-shipping costs etc can be discussed & adjusted accordingly.

for the individual components, prices are as follows (negotiable to an extent):

floorstanders - 16k (pair)
center - 6k
bipolar surrounds - 11k (pair)
subwoofer - 14k
ceiling - 3k
AVR - 30k

still would prefer sale of the whole system together. looking for a quick sale.

ofcourse DMs for queries & to discuss are most welcome but pls note that only those who’re seriously interested and have the funds arranged & ready with a genuine intent to take the deal ahead pls contact me. otherwise would request you to kindly not waste my & your time by first messaging & then ghosting or/and finally telling/revealing something else; pls.

Deepawali special price for the full setup - 60,000/-!

If anybody has been having interest in this, then now is the time to have it as yours!

nvr mind, saw the sheet. The AVR at that price is a steal..I purchased a denon last week, I feel like I missed out. :frowning:

I am a complete noob on this but if i buy these 2 pairs, how can i marry them together? Do i need extra hardware for it?
