Got sold a fake drive here – posting so others don’t go through what I did

@Crazy_Eddy has disabled sellers page..so..

But in the screenshot, you mentioned that “you are def gonna be eligible for warranty claims”. So which is it?

Referring to this…overall MOD Admin action has been pretty nonchalant.
The guy reselling the resellers product without having it in hand and disclosing the actual ownership is still active.

The same PSU was listed by @TechnologyHell albeit briefly and removed after I pointed out the issue to him.

Again a reminder for him to check his sources and cover his arse for the inevitable issue popping up like this thread.

Yeah. There was another reseller selling ssd for cheap. Things happen

Went through this thread, had no idea that TE had become a dropshippers’ paradise, with actual sources being shady fb sellers. Especially with the same PSU being listed by 2 different accounts.

They are taking advantage of the forum’s reputation, and trying to sell items, not always in good faith, and often to make a profit. If a reseller is selling an item for cheap enough to be lucrative, and both the reseller and source are making profits, the actual price, and consequently quality of the product is suspect.

Something has to change, or this will end up harming TE’s reputation.

@mods what is the latest rule on dropshipping? Imo dropshipping should not be allowed in TE. Let dropshipping experts conduct their business elsewhere or accept full responsibility.

Accept full responsibility, + provide “warranty” periods that inspire confidence and make sense. I said it before too, what a reseller calls a “7-day warranty” isn’t really a warranty. It’s just a guarantee from their side that things will work as they should. A warranty is a completely different, and actually, a legal thing with completely different terms, conditions, and service contracts that the seller should abide by if they’re using the word “warranty.” Otherwise it’s only a misleading and blatant misuse of the word “warranty.”

What was the TE handler of PSU?

The actual person in possession of the PSU ?

He remains anonymous. The person who listed it did not want to disclose their identity.

Weird fetish but okaaayyyy

neither did TH. some type of refurb/garbage PSU mafia I suppose

There are many wsapp groups where suppliers post their stuff, ex. @horizonenterprises is a reputable reseller who lists stuff for quite cheap, though don’t know about their warranties. I believe some members here are asking the resellers there to just give them a pic with handwritten note so that they can make a post here.
Those dealers have bigger fishes to fry and thus they don’t spend much time here listing their stuff (as in the case of Horizon).

Lol. First of all, banning dropship here is not a decision you can make. Let mods figure it out.

Secondly, the entire refurb economy is not based on dropshipping. TE has many sellers who possess items with them.

You have asked buyer @soulweaver to send the package to your source directly. Right?

Even in @Uvula you are not ready for full refund. Let mods decide the rest.

@TechnologyHell

If you do not actually have a item, why not mention that?
Let buyers take a decision knowing that.

Imagine you bought something from me and later found out you actually bought it from a “Som Nath Dev”. Wouldn’t you get pissed off?

Total Refund to @Uvula.

A complete ban on @TechnologyHell would be too harsh. But something must be done.

Drop shipping should be banned, I don’t think most of TE members are in favour of this.

I bought a WD SN 8000s from @TechnologyHell some months back. I did data backup. I was randomly searching about the drive and saw that a facebook group has listed the same SSD (verified by serial number.) The image had a watermark (Laptop Doctor). @TechnologyHell literally cropped that watermark and posted the same image.

Proof

In the comment you can see that the ssd was selling for 7k, and Technology Hell sold it here for 8k. (thats okay. Take money). Would i buy from a random facebook seller? NO. I trusted you and you charged a premium for trust.

But the posts appeared at the same time after I paid. This means even my drive can be a replica.

@TechnologyHell is Rx Manja your supplier? Was my ssd genuine? (it is still under your warranty of 6 months). (edit: so you practically conned TE people by taking things from facebook and listing it here. Well done)

Many questions remain unanswered in my case too.

@Crazy_Eddy please look into this too.

Here is my thread where I bought from TH.

Somebody was saying in March that the same drive was listed in Facebook for less while TH posted it for more in TE.

In Facebook posting by Pallab Banik same images which was posted by TH in TE are there.

Check here once:https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1BjCXDaQwx/

In Facebook my 2TB drive is selling for 7k while I bought it for 8k here.

Pallab Banik posted the ad on 25th March, 2025 and @TechnologyHell posted it in TE on 26th March, 2025.

That means the drives are not in the possession of the person selling them.

Although my 2TB drive is working well until now.

Update: Now who will give me the bill or hold the responsibility of claiming warranty if anything goes wrong with my drive.

8k gone down the drain it seems if my drive goes kaput.

Personally i have no complaints with your service. But again i will suggest you to check your sources, so that in future buyer won’t face product legitimacy problem. Business is a long term thing built with trust…

Didnt want to hijack @Uvula ‘s thread. So Dropshipping or Replica or Something else?
