this game is insane man no words for the same. completed 4% and i love it. mindblowing, best bit is that i have 4gb ram so all cool no lags at all. 437/500 resource used.

A very IMPORTANT tweak LATEST ..

i discovered this myself while going some keeda kandi with the game

trick is:

1: copy the attached file into ur GTA IV directory

2: under the graphic settings of the game select resolution to 1680*1050 or anything lower

3: Texture quality HIGH .. very important ( do not change this )

4: Render quality HIGH or highest if frames dont drop

5: View Distance to 30-40

6: Detail Distance to 30

6: Shadows to 0 (they are useless in GTA anyway)

dont give heed to what the game says about the ram exceeding sheet…

just play. avoid using fraps while playing

C2D e4600.

abit ip35e

2gb ddr2 800mhz

POV 8800GT gfx card

500 + 160 gb hdd

resolution of monitor - 1440x900

Running Win XP SP3

I’m getting more 2gb ram in this week or next…

Great to hear that jesal , so I got to install this on my Vista 64bit first so that my full 4GB Ram is used.437/500 is that actual Ram count or the VRAM shown by you.

It should run better on xp than on vista , as most games do , also for some reason my Vista x64 uses 1.2GB out of my 4GB , whereas XP x32 uses only 500MB out of the 2.75GB available.

Hey man its nothing like that . I face the problem that game crashes a LOT if I put in the commands given by you (also heard a lot of people complaining on ahem sites about these commands).
Dinesh modified it a little which completely works, for me atleast.

Just dont buy it like that, I know ram is pretty cheap and but I have a little inferior rig from you and I have absolutely no problem playing this game. Getting around 35 fps with Dinesh’s Commanline.txt.

If you can… try OC’ing your E4600 to 3G atleast

trust me they will come with some superficial idelogy to protect the dumbness of the MOD taking care of the gamin section.

Give yourselves a break. There’s no need to get all agitated. It was me who merged the threads. There were too many GTA 4 threads floating around and I felt the need to merge some of them so that people realize that GTA 4 isn’t the only game available on this planet. The gaming section was anyway flooded with topics like “Where do I get GTA4 here?”, “Where do I get GTA4 there?”, “GTA 4 Patches”, “GTA 4 Fixes” etc. before this. I admit there’s been a mistake but you should allow us the time to correct it.

We certainly appreciate “your” hard-work but from the looks of it, you don’t appreciate “our” hard-work. A simple and polite e-mail or PM could have solved the issue in place of such rude posts. In case you do not know, let me tell you that TE is still managed by volunteers and nobody is being paid to take your anger and rude posts. Anyway, this mistake will be corrected in sometime.

Edit: Done. I hope you’re happy now and will be able to sleep well tonight knowing your hard work isn’t lost.
